Hi everybody! Super excited to be here! This is my first official announcement I'm making for the Genesis team. For those of you who don't know me already, I'm Petra, CM at Opaque. Today I have a few announcement to make. First, is that due to the accelerated timeframe for a GDC project, we are pausing development on Genesis for two weeks. However, the design work and preproduction will continue and we will keep everyone updated as we move forward. For some good news! Folks from other parts of Opaque will start joining the board. One of the first to enter the fray will be Norman Wang, the Project Lead on Earthlight and the almighty studio overlord who preside over the Genesis team. His job is to make sure that the Genesis team has all the resource they need to produce the game, but he is also personally a big fan of VR games in general. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to PM/tweet/poke me! -Petra

Hello,
It's great to see how serious you guys are about keeping a close connection with the community. From the looks of things you're really letting people have a big impact on the game's design. That's really awesome!

Hello, It's great to see how serious you guys are about keeping a close connection with the community. From the looks of things you're really letting people have a big impact on the game's design. That's really awesome! Hi Idem! I am glad you are happy with the way we run things! Community input is important to us, we want to make games that people will enjoy, feel apart of and so asking people for their input is a given for us. We hope for as long as the community will have us, to listen to ideas, receive feedback and over all get to know the people that play our games. Thank you for your continued support! - Petra

I'm really looking forward to having you all here. Very exciting. I'm extremely interested in interactive entertainment and AR/VR's potential at nurturing immersion in our gaming, and everyday experiences.

I look forward to making new friends here that share the same passion for VR and cutting edge technology that Opaque Media group in general has!

This community is really awesome.
On update front, we're currently engaged in art tests and Faith preproduction mechanic did indeed go ahead. We have parallel systems that are on another project, which are actually doubling up for Genesis regardless. Things like grabbing things, moving complicated bone structures and activating/de-activating objects in your hands were all prototyped and in-engine this week. More complicated things, like movement dampening (or smoothing), in VR for moving yourself around also had a fair amount of work. It all 'feels' really good so far!
As Petra mentioned, we had a set back due to an acceleration in timeframe of a project in time for GDC, but we've managed to make progress on a lot of base systems regardless, such is the magic of project management.

I hope you guys get your stuff ready for GDC. Feel free to share something about your other project (s) after you've shown it there.

From the looks of things, we'll be in a bunch of news and doing interviews etc. Petra will be on point with that in time! I honestly just want to go back on Twitch and shoot the shit for another two hours, but I can't have everything. I can't even have a nap.
