Guys I realize that you have a duty and commitment to 22cans, but when does the camels back break? This is a response I had while reading your "From the Mods to the Community" post. Reading that is just painful. Why not just blow the whistle about the whole thing. You are willing withholding information from the community? Why? Because he asked you not to, what did he ask you to not tell us? Why don't you just tell us. You are probably not under a contract, not does it say anywhere in the steam rules that you can withhold information from your consumer base. This just seems like a slap in the face to everyone still looking at Godus. "Were looking into restoring communication" thats fucking bullshit and you know it just a stalling tactic. There is no reason on this planet your still loyal to 22cans. Do they promise you money? An endorsement, what makes you so loyal. Is the fact that its the easiest mod job around? I mean honestly with less then 100 people active it must be a brease. Or did you two have some kind of blood pack to never quit without both of you agreeing on it. Working as Mods for 22cans is only damaging your reputation and you already have other moderating jobs. Why not just blow the whistle on 22cans, you'll be heros to the community and the internet. They can't sue you if you blow the whistle because you are working as volunteers. Just tell us what really is going on so we as a community finally come to terms with Godus. You could ever be able to take down the entire company by giving an interview with a major gaming site. Once that happens Valve will have to step in and I hope that once Valve steps in that we'll finally get some kind of reparation for this abomination you keep defending.

Why not just disclose? Because even with volunteer community members with access to information, NDAs are pretty standard.
Filled in as a voluntary 'community emissary' as they called them for a specific MMO a good 6-7 years back now, and whilst the entire purpose of the program was to give a firm conduit between community and community managers (and even producers when they hung out in the daily babble), because we'd get told information but some of it 'potentially' and not yet certain, so what we were told in response to community questions and general discussion and what was relayed back as a answer were somewhat different things, though always as upfront and open disclosure as could be possible... that is until the development studio got bought up by another company.
In that case if memory serves there was 3 different NDAs involved, but part of that was because one was with Codemasters for the EU side of things and interacting with their CM staff, another with company who acquired the dev studio and took over for the NA side of things, and then the 'new owner' also decided we needed another NDA to see a concept social/community website and give feedback on and other such stuff. lol

There's not much they can really add, we can all read between the lines. All they would accomplish through a tell all is to expose the charade and it's already exposed to anyone who has been paying attention. If I was Aynen/Muir I would just quit. It's better for them and there are no thanks for being 22Cans fig leaf. |
