... a sore wrist and you guys. *chortle* /juvenile In my case it was actually true. We were Alpha testers and the first version put out was downright painful after 240 hours of playing it! LOL.

Oh yeah, I know dem feels - that's why I scripted a tool to raise and lower land using the keyboard instead of my mouse. Just chuckling at your phrasing.

Well, it's about damn time someone else picked it up. Let's see how long before another media outlet catches on - if anyone gives a damn anymore. Frankly I'm tired of it, but shills like this cannot stand, and fight we must.

Well, it's about damn time someone else picked it up. Let's see how long before another media outlet catches on - if anyone gives a damn anymore. Frankly I'm tired of it, but shills like this cannot stand, and fight we must. This one is good because it managed to get a response (be it an extremely half-arsed one) from 22Cans themselves. So what have we learned? - Konrad was not technically made redundant. He was a contractor and his contract ran out.
- Simon couldn't say what additional work, if any, is being done for Godus and Godus Wars but stated Godus is an "ongoing project".
- Simon is quoted very sparsely in this article, which makes me think he did have much to say, but he managed to mention mobile three times. So I wonder if the ongoing Godus development underway right now (if any) is for the mobile release.
- When asked if resources had been shifted to The Trail, the best he could do was "Not quite".
I found this quote interesting: "There's lots of areas to support on the project, as you can imagine. We have a bit of a rhythm in moving from PC to mobile and so on."What does this mean? What rhythm? This suggests some kind of ongoing activity, though it seems to me that the mobile release has been abandoned for even longer than the PC version.

Lol. I'm sure Konrad would jump at the chance to make a new contract with 22cans.

I had the exact same thought. There are so many contradictions in Simon's statement, compaired to past statements, they're really leaving themselves quite the trail of lies.

Yeah. Konrad has apparently been retrospectively demoted from "lead designer" to "contracter who made maps in Godus Wars". We know from the discussions he started on these boards that it was supposed to be the former, so Simon is obviously trying to talk down his role at the company to make it seem it's no big deal that he isn't there anymore.
Edit: The horrible alternative is that the role of "lead designer" on Godus amounts to making maps in Godus Wars. As I noted in my playthrough write-up, the maps in Godus Wars are not meaningful game content and don't make much difference to the player experience from level to level.

Simon's statements are obvious attempts to obfuscate rather than inform anybody about the state of GODUS. If you read the facts he actually states like that the team working on GODUS isn't zero but he won't say who much, how long, or what, or when, then you can infer that it's bugger all, never going to happen, bugger all and never. It's a joke and he is such a coward.
It takes a special kind of person to behave like this. And by that I mean someone with incredible moral flexibility.

We have a bit of a rhythm in moving from PC to mobile and so on."What does this mean? What rhythm? This suggests some kind of ongoing activity, though it seems to me that the mobile release has been abandoned for even longer than the PC version. The rhythm has generally been: "Hey look we're committed!" ~minimal content for few months of development, brief post-release support and comms followed by months of silence, we prod them to say something~ "Hey look mobile!" ~outrage followed by weak response and swearing up and down of getting back to PC development, repeat cycle seemingly ad infinitum~ So basically we should expect to see some messier version of Godus Wars on mobile come this August if past patterns of behavior are any indication. Yeah. Konrad has apparently been retrospectively demoted from "lead designer" to "contracter who made maps in Godus Wars". As I noted in my playthrough write-up, the maps in Godus Wars are not meaningful game content and don't make much difference to the player experience from level to level. It's more of what you said of Simon (and what hardly said). We have the design documents that Konrad was putting together to try to sort combat out for Godus (later rebranded Godus Wars). The earliest versions of combat were running in original Godus. It was only after Simon and minor reorganization that anything resembling Godus Wars came around. Prior to that and the "Shit" we stirred up last year, everything was looking like it was going to remain in Godus, not split into separate products. Simon is literally bullshitting Eurogamer because he doesn't expect they'll dig any deeper given how much of a shitshow Godus' development has been and the amount of people who have completely given up caring because of that.

Sadly, I think everyone has GODUS fatigue and we are fighting a war that has already been lost. 22Cans know they "win" through stalemate so they only have to deprive their critics of oxygen. This is in part because their definition of winning at the moment doesn't involve successfully releasing any products. In the media, you need to lay a killer blow to win and there are no killer blows left to lay on 22cans as there is nothing that will shock people about the situation. Certainly not more news about Bryan being left empty handed and definitely not the lack of progress on the game.
I wonder whether Simon is in some ways exploiting Peter. By that I mean Simon is presumably drawing a salary (you never know he could be being paid in equity which would raise my opinion of him) which perhaps Peter is paying directly out of his pocket. From where I sit 22cans seems to have no chance of success, so really Simon could just be milking the opportunity for what he can get before the ship goes down. That is unless the Trail is some unexpected success.

There are still a few flies left in the soup - we just need to give them time to stew. In the meantime, we'll just have to keep stirring.

I wonder if this is a surprise to Konrad. Suddenly his accreditation and CV updated from "Lead Designer" to "Map Maker". I would be absolutely livid if I were him and just now being made aware of this via Eurogamer.
