Look, geez, the Godus website hasn't been updated in months, the lead designer was fired or is at least gone, they're not communicating with anyone, they're possibly not even working on the game anymore? Has anyone thought to contact, I don't know, Rock, Paper, Shotgun and say, "Hey, you're journalists, you nailed Peter before, do it again! Investigate this!" I'd like to see someone get out ahead of 22cans before they even have a chance to try to spin this god(pun)damn debacle.

Assuming Ba'al's source is reliable, I would imagine this is being investigated as we speak. Whether that journalistic investigation amounts to an opinion piece run on a Saturday evening, or not, is anyone's guess.

I don't think the media are looking at godus anymore.

Like it or not, the media will perpetually be interested in Molyneux, he has legendary status in the gaming community (for good or for ill), so things he works on wont just get overlooked. If the game has finally ran out of steam, and is now officially a recognised failure by even 22 cans themselves, then this would be something worthy of interest, i can't believe the media would willfully miss an opportunity to talk about that, if they did then they are poor stewards of their craft.

Every bad thing we said about them and more is disgustingly true.

Already been picked up here following tip-off: www.pcinvasion.com/godus-lead-rumoured-let-go-development-may-ceasedThere's no new info unfortunately, just reporting on what Ba'al has already posted. It does mean that proper media sources are likely to take an interest in this and 22Cans will feel real pressure to make some kind of statement about what is actually going on.

"For what it’s worth, Naszynski’s LinkedIn page still has his employment listed as 22cans. The latest news on the 22cans site features a ‘Combat Design Progress’ post from Naszynski dated 19 June, but if you scroll further back you’ll realise this is from 19 June 2015. So while that doesn’t help with Naszynski’s current employment status, it does show that 22cans have abandoned their ‘news’ page for a whole year." Just another day in the life of Simon "very good at business" Phillips. priceless.

Before I say this, look, I get it-- I've seen other people say it before too, but I think we've turned a corner here.
I feel like we have pretty sufficient evidence to say 22cans no longer "plans to continue to develop for release." The steam forums have no contact with the development team. We have (thanks, Crumpy Six!) at least one media outlet reporting the lead designer was "made redundant", the website hasn't been updated in over a year, and that they can't contact 22cans either.
What else does Steam need to take the goddamn game down or at least to investigate and say, "No, actually, you're all wrong. Things are great over there, oh man, you should see it." Can Godus just be in early access forever so long as 22cans is a company at all? Valve has changed the rules before to discourage abuse, specifically added/emphasized the rule I invoked in this comment.

Well, if there are any other media outlets reporting the news besides PCInvasion, Google hasn't picked up on them yet.

Well, if there are any other media outlets reporting the news besides PCInvasion, Google hasn't picked up on them yet. Weird. Maybe they are just over and done covering this topic every year without any progress or movement, and they have lost the will to fight 22Cans ? I mean, what did the last shitstorm accomplish? The world just moves on after the latest hot topic gets dry. Or, maybe they are trying to really dig into it and get all the info they can, to finally and truly end this madness?

The last shit storm was built on damning interviews. I imagine they are presently reaching out to Simon/Peter for comment and finding the same brick wall we have. The question will be, when 22Cans refuse to front, what will they write?

Even if nothing comes of this particular revelation, I'm sure it'll all be brought out of the woodwork when 22Cans start publicising their new title.
Is anything about Godus news-worthy anymore? For me yes, because of the implications of it being Early Access (not to mention Bryan Henderson and all the outstanding Kickstarter commitments), but for anyone who isn't interested in that side of the debacle, it's just a rubbish game from 3 years ago. It's not as if it was some big phenomenon or well-loved multiplayer that people will be enjoying for years to come, either. No one plays it.

Oddly, there's absolutely no new news about this after the PCInvasion article. A few shared tweets, and the reddit thread, but outside that it just seems to have gone nowhere.

It's possible other journalists are waiting for a response from the studio. If they're being treated the same as everyone else, 22Cans will be playing possum.

It's also still shortly post-E3, so some may still be putting together articles from interviews and the like from there. Not only that, but they've had the recent release of Mighty No. 9 to tide over the Kickstarters gone rocky quota for the month, maybe.

I don't really think anything the studio puts out at this point stands much of a chance. I would not be surprised if they barely have anybody left really working there. I think they are pretty much just going quietly into the night. The only thing I have to show for my hundred pounds is a sore wrist and you guys. Moral of the Story: Don't fuck people over in the 2000s. You can't hide from the internet in any country these days. EVERYONE knows what they did and their name if pretty much mud globally.
