I like godgames I know you are worried about the name seeming restrictive if you want to branch out, but you can always change it again later right?
Fact is the majority of sub forums and people who visit currently are here because of God games?

The thing is, I would like to avoid changing it again. All threads will essentially be getting a new url. Any link anywhere on the net that links to this forum will essentially be broken. It's bad enough for that to happen once.

Doesn't proboards offer an alias service? You could just keep Godus.proboards.net and redirect it to the new forum name?

Yes I researched that last year. I have a different plan, but I don't know if I can get it done. Will have to find out later.

Thanks to all of you who have voted. I'm still hoping to get at least as many more to make the result more significant. Who hasn't cast a vote yet? If you haven't, please do. If you know someone who hasn't voted yet please ask them to do so. echocdelta and sporkedmango, how about some of your colleagues?

Ah I see someone changed their vote and someone else added one. That's great. godgames.boards.net definitely appears to be pulling ahead now. Remember, you can all change your vote any number of times until the poll is closed, which will be at a moment at my discretion that I am as yet unsure about.

I haven't had much experience here so I don't feel comfortable saying one is better for this community or not, but what I can say is:
- godgames.boards.net seems very official and because of that I think has a chance to become the biggest community commentary on god games and players of god games in general (where people are directed to if they're trying to choose between games or a place to keep track of sucesses/outcomes in games). This doesn't mean that the forum can't also have an unofficial section for more relaxed conversations. - letsplaygod.boards.net seems rather offhand and unofficial, having more of a story telling and experience sharing community than a technical/commentary based one.
I really think that the chosen name should represent what you want from new people when they join the forum, should they expect to just relax with friends and have fun, or debate the finer points on the pros and cons or certain play styles and audiences?
Note: All of the comments here are based on my first impressions after reading the names.

Thanks for chipping in Griffork. Those are good points. It seems that most people are voting for one particular name and no new alternatives are being offered so I think it is clear where we're headed. I also think that regardless of the name we choose, what the forum is about and how people choose to participate will be up to the community itself. Meaning people who would enjoy a "letsplay" forum will be able to do just that, regardless of the forum having a name that doesn't directly reflect that. I think the argument of godgames.boards.net sounding like the place to go to talk about godgames is a strong one.

Letsplaygod cam also be confused with the "Let's Play" genre.

The result would appear to be significant enough. Thank you all for voting. I will lock the poll and think the new name will be implemented soon.
