Hello Everyone, I'm the developper of a VR God game called Deisim and i found your forum when i heard about Genesis. The game is VR only and will probably remain like this due to the fact that i'm alone to do all the work on it. But i'm confident that the entry price for VR will be lower soon enough to allow almost everybody to enjoy it. If you want to see it there is my steam page and my youtube channel with some videos. This is still a work in progress of course. : store.steampowered.com/app/525680/ www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0s-Zrc0YejLrpXX5G9CTe7D2uiBeONGnIf some of you own a Vive i would be pleased to give them access to an early build. The game will also be compatible with oculus touch in the near future. The concept is a bit different of traditional god games in the way that in Deisim the God is not supposed to micromanage everything. He is supposed to create the world and mankind will do what they can to survive and grow in this world. I would be pleased to hear some comments or idea you may have.

Nice one, good luck I don't have a Vive or any VR at the moment. I have tried a few thought and were a lot of fun.

Looks good, thanks for sharing, this is the kind of thing I would buy into had I the VR equipment (one day!). I'm a software developer so I'm interested to know what language and SDK you are using for this? I've dabbled in Unity in my spare time but never had enough free time to actually produce a game.

I'm making this game with the Unity Engine and the VRTK framework (http://vrtk.io). This is an open-source framework to rapidly building VR solutions maintained by an awesome community. All the code is made in C# during my spare time. If you have any more specific question about the code or the gameplay don't hesitate to ask.

Let's hope the VR headset price drop quickly. At least when you will be able to try it the game will be more polished. ^^ I still have a ton of work to be honest.
Fun pic of the day ^^

Hello guys! I'm currently working on a more intuitive way of scaling the world. It looks promising.

I like: Cats; single malt Scotch; Stargate; Amiga; fried potatoes; retro gaming; cheese; snickers; sticky tape.
I don't like: Dimples in the bottom of scotch bottles; Facebook games masquerading as godgames.

I'm more fond of green hills and interesting terrain. But all in due course I presume.

The terrain is based on a grid and is flat (full terrain transformation was a bit too complicated for my first game) but there is mountains and coast to give a bit of relief. The ground is not really flat either but this is less noticeable on flat screen than in VR with the better depth perception.

Looking really cool. I've seriously need to figure out how to get me a VR headset. Well I've heard that the Oculus received a serious price cut. Around 500 maybe?

Yeah the Oculus rift (with tracked controller) is now very cheap (450€) for a limited time and will stay around 500$ after that. With that and the fact that 1050ti is VR ready VR has never been so affordable. The rift tracking is a bit below the vive one but the hmd is more comfortable and at that price the Oculus rift is the better choice for now. Don't buy phone VR headsets like Gear VR or you will be disappointed.

I will be a very late adopter. My laptop is still from the stone age and then there's so many other things before i could consider buying VR stuff. By the time I get around to it the tech will be widezpread, well developed and probably way cheaper still.

Maybe I should give you your own section here. Seeing as this is the only active topic on the board anyway.

Why not. I can probably share more info about the game and talk about design choices
