I like: Cats; single malt Scotch; Stargate; Amiga; fried potatoes; retro gaming; cheese; snickers; sticky tape.
I don't like: Dimples in the bottom of scotch bottles; Facebook games masquerading as godgames.

So I was going through my Twitter history in order to do some house cleaning and I came across a post from a while back from echocdelta and decided to respond to it. Emre was very kind to respond to me. Here's what was discussed.

Interesting. So... I'm wondering; what game beat them to market?

I hate that GODUS has made me so cynical. You know what I’m thinking.
Remember Universe Sim!

I find that a great god-game is still lacking in the world. Not a strategy game, or building sim with some godly flavoring to it, but a game that really focusses on the experience of being a god. Something genre-defying.

Probably Super Island God VR. store.steampowered.com/app/539050/Super_Island_God_VR/I also released Deisim in EA at the same time but it was very primitive so this is probably not my fault. I hope so because I was really hyped by Genesis. This is how I discovered this forum.

Something genre-defying. It is so hard to make something where you really play God. All is suposed to be possible. ^^

All except to impede on mankind's free will, which is where the fun is. And it's the one thing most designers stay well away from.

At my humble scale this is what I try to achieve. There is also Crest that try to do something original. You should take a look on it

Hmm, if their execution is good this could be exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for the tip!
