Who's looking forward to the world football championship in Brazil? Only a couple of weeks to go until Croatia (yes I just happen to be there right now) kicks off against Brazil for the opening match on June 12th. I bet I'll be watching that game in one of the local bars or restaurants. At least that's what I hope. I don't know if they have that tradition around here.
Naturally I will be supporting my heroes in orange (The Netherlands) who just so happen to play on the second day of the games against Spain. I bet they'll be hard to beat as they are the reigning world champion. But we were runners up in the previous world cup so perhaps we can have our revenge.
Let me post the groups and a schedule of the matches to come.

Did I miss any?
I have marked the important matches for you. By the way, for those of you who don't know, a football match lasts approximately an hour and 45 minutes. You should also know that Bosnia and Herzegovina is one team, so it's not like they'll be playing two against one, that wouldn't be fair. Furthermore it is important to know that only the top two teams of each group get to compete in the final rounds of the championship. A map of how those final round matches will be scheduled can be found here on the FIFA website.
I know I'm excited. Apart from The Netherlands I will also be supporting Belgium and Croatia and if 22Cans are nice maybe England. As long as they aren't playing against The Netherlands of course. Maybe I'll even support USA to make my girlfriend happy. No on second thought I will most likely support USA because I see they're in a group with Portugal and Germany. I will be anti-supporting Portugal and Spain because I generally don't like the way they "act" on the field, as in faking injuries and stuff like that. There's a good chance I won't like Italy and Argentina either, but we'll see. Of course I always hope to get a Netherlands vs. Germany match. There's just history there. Not that I dislike the Germans by the way, it's just in the spirit of friendly competition. But then who doesn't like to compete against Germany, right?
So, who will you be rooting for? Who do you hope will win the championship and who do you think will win the championship?
