(NO I'M NOT LEAVING!)
It has occured to me that many forums (pretty much every forum) has a welcome thread, yet I have never seen a forum that also has a dedicated farewell thread. That is not to say they do not exist, I just haven't seen any. I guess most forum owners are happy to welcome new people but don't want to see them go. Well I am also like that of course, I love the idea of new people joining the community, also I regret having to see people leave the forum. Still I have to respect their decision. This forum has been founded in a spirit of openness and freedom and so I think it is only fitting for it to have a dedicated place for people who want to distance themselves from the forum to say goodbye on. That is the reason for this farewell thread. I will sticky it to the forum just as I have with the welcome thread. Of course I would hope that no one would ever say goodbye but I know that that is just wishful thinking. Therefore I hope that if any of you ever wish to abandon this forum you will at the very least consider leaving a message on this thread to say goodbye to the community and the people that you have "shared the ride" with. All the best goes out to you for having been a part of this place. It will never be the same without you.

You scared me with that title. To all future leavers: It's been fun poking the bear that 22Cans is with you. Even though the bear is blind, somewhat retarded, and was dead for the past 6 months. I hope whatever will take up your time will be just as entertaining, but a lot more rewarding, and educational.

You scared me with that title. Sorry about that. Guess I could consider the dramatic effect of that a bonus. Rest assured I don't have any plans to step away from this forum whatsoever.

you're not fooling anyone! Thought I'd be unable to resist posting in a new thread and then you could be rid of me because I posted in the farewell thread... Well there is no way I am falling for that,... um,.. drat!

Perhaps naming it "Farewell thread" or "Thread for farewells" instead of just "Farewell" would be less panic-inducing

Mmmmm... Though I initially didn't intend it like that, I kinda like the dramatic effect now.

Okay since I am the first one to say this, I get to say it in style! Goodbye godus, I'll always wonder what happened to you & where you went, but it's more of a possibility that you might not have ever even existed. All of the Kickstarter & the Steam store page hype was just created to look like you MIGHT have.
It's sad we don't even have the corpse to bury here in this pretty confetti covered treasure chest, but there is the distinct possibility that we might find it lying on the side of that big mobile road in the sky, & albeit quite soon. Perhaps we can find you by reading those magic Tarot cards dealt out on the mysterious timeline of life. When we do find you, we will put stickers on your eyes to keep those evil PM demons out, & we will read a delicious zen like sermon over you. The lemming ship will give you the send off that a true god game deserves, as it burns in the distance. Watch out for that finger of god though, it tends to head straight up your south end.
Have true faith, your body will no longer be tethered to this beautifully sculpted realm, & your temples of expansion shall be timer less. We hope you follow the road map that never came straight to those blessed hub worlds on Jupiter. May your pink bubble gum bubbles give you endless belief. Goodbye to that which never even existed, except in the deluded mind of the great PM. All hail to the god game genre, for it has truly died by the hands of it's creator. Amen!

And I'm out. The Roadmap demonstrates zero interest in user, backer, funder feedback. The game is going to continue to be a cute, play-on-rails, casual title, filled with stickers, gems, and mechanics that break any sense of immersion.
I wish that Peter sought to make the game he pitched. Alternatively, that he was interested in tweaking his design based on my feedback. But no. It's not just my feedback he is going to ignore, but it seems like any feedback other than analytics.
I doubt 22Cans will last (they may well be destroyed in a backer lawsuit, that'd be fun to watch), but if they do: maybe in a few years my nephew will enjoy playing Godus.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Farewell wonkonpac. I'm sad to see you go. Do check in in the future from time to time, perhaps when you're utterly bored.

I'm sorry to say that I too will not be back, but I'm just not going to waste any more of my life on crapus. I enjoyed this for a while, but the joke ended up being on us. Thank you Lord Ba'al for allowing me to be a part of your community for the short time I was here, you surely spend a goodly amount of time on this labor of love. Just don't waste any of that love on crapus, spend it instead on YOUR loved ones. Peace & good will to all, except for those who are foisting the nightmare of crapus upon the world. I eagerly await The Universim. My last act regarding crapus will be to remove the bookmark for this board from my browser, but it is by no fault of those here, the burden rests soley on the shoulders of 22cans & Peter Molyneux. Can anyone direct me to that company from the film "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"? I want to erase anything involving crapus/22cans/Peter Molyneux from my head forever.

Farewell odin13. Of course I am sad to see you go. I wish you well and hope maybe someday we shall meet again under more joyful circumstances. Thanks for your kind words and for your advice which I'll surely be following up on. Take care.

Have to admit that the writing does seem to be upon the wall. I’ve had an absolute blast lampooning/insulting Godus and Peter on these boards (many thanks to our fine and honorable host), but I doubt I have anything left to contribute beyond stale repetition and increasingly bitter vitriol. Eh, the die is cast and Godus is horribly fucked disappointing --it’s kinda like a zombie game that doesn’t hunger for brains, and doesn’t care to. Now really, how absurd is that?
But I’m certain I’ll tune in from time to time. . . Besides, I hate zombie game.

Have to admit that the writing does seem to be upon the wall. It's been there for a while, but most people ignore signs no matter how big they are, or how many other people point to them - and that includes the developers. One thing that is a fairly telling signal is how many visitors, and contributors, a game forum has. So, it's possibly a sign that things are not good, seeing how abysmally vacant the 22Cans Godus forum is; especially for a game in Beta or Early Access development. It should be teeming with players and such, but the activity on that site is almost non-existent, with slight peaks on "news" days; but even then it's pretty slim. And, it's almost always the same few dozen people. What happened to all the backers? Oh, that's right, they (we) have basically given up. That's a pretty sad state of affairs when your early supporters are too jaded to care. It's a real shame, and they have a long, grueling, bloody march ahead of themselves if they ever wish to redeem things. And I don't really count the Steam forums, because that's somewhat of a different situation - Steam community is an open-forum frequented by a great many people everyday, so statistically that forum will have more life. However, despite that as we all know, the mood there isn't usually all too pleasant... and that too should tell people something. I haven't left the forums yet, but I certainly am not playing that awful game and have come exceedingly close to swearing off any involvement with it.

But I’m certain I’ll tune in from time to time. . . Besides, I hate zombie game. I would be lying if I said that I haven't been tempted to leave myself. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm the forum admin I might have been gone already. I do have a tendency to stick around though so perhaps not. I like being part of an online community that came together for reasons that we share. You are definitely correct that at a certain point we just keep saying the same things over and over again. I have noticed this myself and have started posting less because of it. Maybe if I'll give it some time things will turn around somehow. It saddens me to see you go waiting on conway but I understand your position. I do hope you will like you say be back to chime in from time to time. Remember we also have a Whatever section that you can use to talk about whatever you feel like. Some communities can last for long after the reason that people came together in the first place is nothing but a memory. I hope this will be one of them.

Sigh... I'm out, ladies and gents (I know I know, good riddance, right?). After giving Godus a good go after the last update.. I just don't think I'm interested anymore.
Nothing against you wonderful forum peoples, I'm just.... so disappointed. Peace.
