Hey all, I have to say I'm leaving as well. But instead of just doing that, I though I should let those interested know why I'm leaving (an 'exit interview' so to say). Don't get me wrong, Godus has been a great game, but I want to let you guys know the mindset of a player such as me. I believe there's a dealbreaker for every game - you know, the thing that makes you put it down and rarely touch it again. For Godus it was the pressure. If I didn't login to keep my followers happy, they would ditch me. From there, it felt like a work job, not a fun game. If I don't come to work, my performance will go down and I will suffer consequences. Other games I play have an addiction factor - the more I play/login everyday, the more bonus I get. I don't suffer bad consequences if I don't login. It's an optional thing. But in Godus, I risk losing all my followers. I would panic when I couldn't log on/get to a device. Godus wasn't fun anymore with the 'do or fail' pressure. That said, I've now burned down all the Astari villages in Weyworld (was this the original intention?). I now have too much uncovered land, beacons and gems to unlock, so am just going to go into lurk mode and let my followers happily live on in their colonies. No more expanding, just being in a frozen state of time. Anyhoo, thanks to everyone for the wonderful tips and also Godus for the great time.

Though I totally understand that you're not enjoying the game as much anymore. I myself actually reached that point long before the Astari came around. In fact I haven't actually played the game with the Astari in it. That aside though I do enjoy being a part of this community, so I hope you'll feel the same way and stick around a bit. In any case, thanks for your posts and insights.

Who knows, I'll probably be back before you know it (this post a sign? ). It's a bit like turning off the car engine after a long drive - there's a nice relief in that, although nothing beats a good drive. Your kinda saying what we have been, why leave us?? Erm, I think I might be? I didn't realise this before... *ponders* I've also noticed an update thread. Though it may or may not be for Android and there's no specified ETA (thus, it's done when it's done), I'm looking forward to updates. That being said, I did find the first part the Homeworld the m tutorial the most engaging because of it's storyline feel.

Shortlived on proboards, but I decided to quit posting concerning Godus. This forum is a breathe of fresh air compared to SEA, I have liked what FuriousMoo has done on here long may that continue, but with the resources cutback by 22cans, I planned to do the same, so I'm cutting back my interest. I'll check back after full release, I truly hope it makes it and becomes the game it had the potential to be. Thanks for being welcoming hosts Lord Ba'al and Qetesh. Been nice discussing ideas and general bantering with you all. Spiderweb out. Like 22cans I decided to break a promise. I'm going to continue hanging out here while avoiding the steam forums. Reason for leaving was non-communication on steam, that's not the same issue on proboards.

Just consider it an over promise you were unable to fulfill due to <insert ironic reason here>, those are just gravy!

It's been a blast, but it seems the new 22cans PR/CM mind tricks are working.
Perhaps it's a combination of my own negativity towards this "game" and lack of direct communication since Konrad got his wrist slapped, but the entire Godus multi-verse has just gone stale and sterile. It's hard for me to really be excited or hopeful for it's future, and I'd rather focus positive energies towards deserving devs/projects than continue oozing vitriol towards these jokers.
Best of luck all.

Not only have 22cabs created a game that is an absolute chore to play but their closed shop approach to communication and suppression of opposing views on the steam forums has robbed us of the only fun that was to be had from this debacle.

So long OverPromise, I know exactly how you feel, the quality of their communication has still not improved, infact the steam boards are now being run like a concentration/death camp. Obey the party line or you get segregated (hidden away in obscure sub-forum), follow their imaginary rules that they make up on the spot to suit their purposes or risk getting beaten (warned) show any sign of discontent and you end up liquidated (banned)
I've considered leaving myself, but can't bring myself to disappear while I see people being mistreated the way that 22 cans insists on behaving over on the steam forums. I don't mind calling them out on their BS, I'm even willing to risk receiving warnings/banning just out of basic principal.

Farewell, OverPromise. I know the constant community abuse - to the point where previous members of 22cans are noting their shock and dismay - would be a harsh thing for most people who expect to find a delightful game to play along the same memories they've had of previous PM games. Back when Peter actually tried, Usenet would have chewed Bullfrog bloody if they tried the same thing as today. If they weren't getting that mobile money, then they would have been 22s***canned already or actually had to try. That money is why 22cans figures they can antagonise their customers until they storm off or 22cans can look for any reason to not deal with them. I cannot blame anyone for giving up from this absolutely disgusting customer service surrounding the chase for dumbed-down fad design.
