Last week we saw v.2.0.5.122 hit the main branch for all Steam users and we saw some new features make their way into the game, such as: - Storms now have a chance to re-spawn chests within your world.
- Settlements had been redesigned to feel more like Settlements instead of a sprawl.
- The new infamous Settlements mechanics (that has caused mass confusion for a lot of people).
So What's New This Week?!In the spirit of keeping our promises to the community, we'll be releasing a new patch on the Opt-In branch but please be warned that they isn't much in the way of improvements this week except we have added new art for the Event Dock. There is a possibility that there could be even more bugs this week. Such is the case with active development - it's not always a straight line of progress, sometimes it's a little bit more like two steps forward, one step back! If you would like to play a more stable build we recommend that you opt-out this week and either continue playing with .122 or .165. However, if you're a fearless bug hunter then please do feel free to dive into v2.0.5.178 and report any new bugs and glitches you encounter. BUG FIXES:- Champion area of influence will move with the Champion.
- Mines will convert to Abodes in a Mining Settlement if destroyed by Finger of God.
KNOWN ISSUES:For the full list of known issues feel free to read through our Known Issues thread. - Click on the chest tutorial issue
Possibly the biggest issue players come across when starting a new game. We urge all players starting a new game not to click on the chest until the tutorial asks you to. - Freeze upon quitting
The most consistently reported bug is that the game freezes upon quitting and has to be closed via the Task Manager. This is due to middleware issue and a workaround is being investigated. - Maximum number of Monuments that can be placed is 36
When you get to a certain point in the game, you will start to notice that you can’t place any more Monuments and that it will still cost you Belief. Community ConcernsWe've noticed on the Steam forums that some players may be holding back their bug reports because of duplicates and that players do not email support@22cans.com because there is no way of knowing whether the bug has already been reported or not. We urge everyone to report bugs via the forums and the support e-mail - the more people who report a bug, the more complete an idea of the number of people being affected by it we get. This helps us prioritise which bugs get fixed first. That about sums up this week's update. If you have any more questions please feel free to drop our support team a message at support@22cans.com. Happy bug hunting!

Yep the "Community Concerns" are about how to report bugs...ummmmm hummmm...got my hopes up that they where about to address something of value...guess not... what was this bug "Champion area of influence will move with the Champion." about? I think it is talking about in voyages where you can't sculpt by the Champion to stop you from drowning them and I guess that field doesn't move as they walk around.

Translation: No significant improvements introduced but more broken crud may appear.
Never mind me; I’m so stinkin' jaded.

Not just that, bless his heart, but admitting that their bug reporting system is severely flawed isn't setting anyone at ease. Unfortunately, though not surprisingly, they also haven't addressed anything about working to fix these issues and concerns with the feedback system within the roadmap either.

I haven't sent a singe bug report to 22Cans, why would I help them after they way they treated me? They wanted a free testers, they should have treated them with more respect. Now you can go and pay for testing like everybody else does.

In influence terms I think it means the voyager giants are not a dim as they were in the original voyages, they also seem to have double or trebled their reach and power of impact. I had a quick go last night when my voyages event had been finished counting down since I'd just finished the 21st when the new option was pushed - so not sure if my new voyages relate to a new feature in 178 or due to my finishing the 21st - but... the mountainful of giants/champions when I tried my first attempt I ran out of time before they all made it, if I'd has 30 seconds longer I would have been fine. On my next attempt(s) they basically went for my followers when they were still quite far away from the giant. much further than they'd have attacked previously.

It almost makes me want to submit some bug reports like they have communicated with us. "Yea I have this issue, but I need to test it out some more, but it is a horrible issue that I know you will want to fix right away once you get it but I do not think it's quite ready yet to be fixed. So let me work on it a little long to make sure it is really an issue."

Not an update worth playing then. Someone wake me when it's time for me to be a god.

I'm sad enough to still be trying to play it - though dropping 30+ stickers on a card is becoming old real fast

But the 'free stickers' in every thunderstorm lessen the initial pain experienced then. When I dropped my last 30+ on last night I had something mad like 134 cards in my stack - with nothing to spend them on.

"you don't like playschool sticker collecting instead of resource generation? Don't worry we'll add fountain clicking to give you somethign to do while waiting for the 12 hour expansion shrine timer." good thing free to play "doesn't equal" dumbed down. of course "doesn't equal" isn't the same as "means it's not".

I mentioned this on the 22cans forums but since I'm not able to post images there.. After struggling with the 2nd new voyage, the one with the land bridge covered in giants and the buried and apparently useless trading site/point, when I go back to my homeworld I've got flowing water - as in the demo they keep showing - which is not something I've had in game previously. Both times it has occurred it was temporary, the first since I crashed out the second it just seemed to go away. The second image is that odd alien spotlight thing I've also mentioned. There are typically 3 or so of them, they tend to swing around the sky a little - they do not appear to damage anything and they might be related to the underground fires across my world. That's very peculiar. Seems they may have broken something major in the last patch, if all these reports of odd behavior and underground fires are any indication (among other lesser reported issues).
The weird "spotlight thing" looks an awful lot like the glow from the Meteor Strike, just without the meteor.
And, oddly, if running water is somewhat functional (even if mistakenly randomly occuring) that means it's still in the code, but apparently not working properly. Even stranger is the lack of even mentioning it in the Roadmap, and 22Can constant avoidance of discussing it's implementation. Though, I guess maybe it's so utterly broken that they fear it's very name...

My feature discussion entry on 22cans has been moved to bugs so I've emailed support the screenshots. I think the colour is different to meteor as I recall, and based on Matthew's image here, and they do actually swing about like a weight on a string. I've just unlocked rain of purity so I intend to spend a gazillion stickers (if it needs it) to let me use it and then see if purify will quench the flames - nothing else seems to.

Oh I nearly forgot to mention that until yesterday my .178 optin had numbers ending in .18943 and as of last night that is 0. I seem to recall the same think in the .122 or .165 timeframe where we had .18181 or similar then magically sidewise re-versioned to .0.
Now in the .178 case I was using the release before Matthew announced it... so maybe I had a non-zero version for that reason.
I've worked in a couple of places where internal developer only builds have a different last number than the general release, but typically that number is shared across all developer builds, this suggests (to me at least) that different systems/sources are being used for different .178 releases.
I've queried it before on 22cans but seen no responses thus far.
