So whilst I've mentioned this on the official forum, aside from the tumble-weeds not much is occurring so I'll cross post here .
Not clear to me why the new voyages have
1) limited (7 days originally) versus unlimited time for the set
2) why little mention is made of them on the forums
3) why the whole voyage world map seems overly large
4) why the ship (and the reinforcements) can travel through land masses
...
Thus far post the 1st 21(?) voyages I've only completed the first in trials and temples (I think that is what it is called).
The first I nearly completed at the first attempt but the extended giant reach meant I ran out of time. Changing tact to account for that meant it took a few attempts.
However in mission 2, notwithstanding it gives me alien spotlights and flowing water in my mountains (bugs raised), even if I attempt to dig at the bottom level of the land bridge the giants can reach me.
It's completely unclear what the trading site/totem is for.
Just throwing this up here since the limit on this set of voyages is roughly 24 hours remaining - whether that resets before or after the next weekly drop of the .178 level.

I haven't played since v2.0 and despised the Voyages from their first inception. They were not well thought out or incorporated. It's unfortunate just how broken they seem, too; even after several test-patches. I, too, find it sad how quiet the official forum is at times - but that's the state of things right now due to past experiences of how Backers have been treated in the past year - though I'm just preaching to the choir here. Doing a quick search ( Voyages on Godus Forum) anyone would notice right away that it's essentially just a handful of the same users commenting. Hopefully in the next few months they can rekindle interest and win back those supporters (but don't hold your breath).

I don't care for the Voyagers because they seem to be more about how fast you can click thsn using your brain to problem solve. I know all players are not members of Mensa but a bit of brain activity is much more enjoyable than flicking my finger on a mouse repeatedly.

What I don't like about voyages of discovery is that they aren't actually voyages of discovery. You don't discover any new land to settle on. And whether they are actually voyages I'm unsure. To me they're just a chore. They subtract from the main game play.

I've also discovered the answer to the question of what happens when the now unlimited time runs out for the available voyages. They are 'completed', in that is what the dock banner now says instead of 17hrs left or whatever. Given they've pulled the update this week that means voyages cannot be used in the current game. You can click on them but the go button does not function.

To me they're just a chore. They subtract from the main game play. but you discover stickers! and that it is a thinly veiled grind mechanic! Plus that the only so much time to complete shall sell gems to allow you to restock followers on the ship before time runs out to complete the voyage! it is literally everything wrong with the design of godus in a minigame!
