Your point is that there have been less players in total than the amount that are counted on steam?

That website is absolutely terrible. It's clearly only working on something dumb like the people who have specifically been searched for. Compare the fact it claims only 47000 people own dota2, where as dota2 actually gets more than 7 million players per month.

Well at least it gives us a lower bound on the number of Players. Oh and Peter's play stats seems to be there, of course nobody knows how recently it was updated.

well I often leave it open in the back ground for many many hours, even while not at computer, to see what happens. so...
Did you know that often the little fires they light are below the ground? Did you know that often the little fires they light sometimes increase in intensity until it is just a solid yellow dot? Did you know that occasionally builders go to very odd places they could not possibly reach, out of control area, and can't get out?

Underground fires for me appeared in .178, not previously. Nothing I've done to them extinguishes them though I've not yet tried rain of purity. My solid yellow 'dots' can be half the size of a settlement given enough time. Those builders (or farmer or miners) that wander off sometimes unexpectedly become homeless/unemployed even if the abode they spawned from has not been repurposed i.e. they are not homeless or unemployed because the home was included in a settlement or destroyed etc.
