raspo and fabs are two different persona: Raspo is a contraction of rasberry, previously raspberry ripple (Cockney rhyming slang for cripple) as my counterstrike nickname was changed while I was in hospital. fabs is a programming joke that stuck, that aligns with my surname quite nicely. Fabian - mathematician that programs - fabs(); floating point absolute function - result is always positive.

Mine isn't as exciting or original as some of the others here. I plainly stole it from a book. Granted, the book I stole it from is from a dutch author who writes under the pseudonym " W. J. Maryson" and even though I've encountered a few others on the interwebs that recognized the name, in general very few people know of it. The full name of the character is "D'Anjal Veskandar Raï" and the series is "Meestermagiër" (translated: Master Magician/Mage)

I think I loosely based it off someone else's on-line nick subconsciously because I had a crush on them. Yeah, creepy. I was young and stupid. Ho-hum.

While worldbuilding on a project of mine, I needed some fancy name for a character, and I figured I could use some other language to do that.. I eventually settled on croatian, and used the word "dozvati" which means to summon; beckon forth. I used it for a summoner class character, but I liked the name enough anyway, and eventually just started using it elsewhere as a general username. No telling.

Hi,
I'm going to post my story but before I do I just want to note that the stories I concocted in my head quite different from the real ones.
First Stoneless Cutter. I imagined this was a Simpson's reference (the episode where Homer joins the stone cutters). Like you were making a reference to a member of a guild without the very thing that gave the guild its name/purpose. Seemed kind of tragic the combination of status without a purpose.
13th general - I imagined this was a reference to the 13th warrior but with more command authority. I never got around to seeing that movie by the way.
Earl - I thought you were Indian, I don't know why, same with Danjal.
I haven't finished reading all your stories.
Anyway in terms of my name its nothing exciting or particularly interesting. When I was a really young child I couldn't say my real name so I called myself Euddie (my real name is Elliot and most young children cant manage it with any accuracy). Anyway my friend who lived across the road and his family used to call me that when I was older but at some point they coined "Hardly" which kinda rhymed and that stuck. Nobody calls me that anymore as a nickname but I use it as a forum name/login for various things. It leads to simple jokes like "Hardly any good at DOTA." which I kind of like because the people who say them think they are clever but they are the most obvious joke in the world. It amuses me.

Mine is pretty boring, my surname is Webb therefore Spiderweb is one of the many Webb related nicknames I've had over the years.

My Nickname comes from Xbox Live. At the time I had a love for Quentin Tarantino films so I tried to use MrPink as my username, but that was taken. Then I try to use another another username DrDedoverde (Cypress Hill track name), but that was taken as well.
Anyway, I kind of lazily merge them together to form MrDrPink.

Mine's sorta boring, but I've been using this name for ~20 years (since dialup BBSes). It's simply mashing together the 2 different ways to spell "grey" / "gray".
god has it really been that long?

The story of my nickname is most probably a very funny story. Unfortunately I can not remember all the details anymore. Long story short: A bunch of people, a lot of alcohol, a never ending night and *tataaa* Roumsen was born. Roumsen is directly derived from my real name, Roman. But some of my friends thought it would be funny to make it sound more English: "Roman" turned into "Row-Man". As time progresses, just as the consumption of alcohol, "Row-Man" turned into "Roumsen", due to the inability to pronounce it corectly anylonger. At the time as I was active on the Godus steam forum, I got the idea to change it into "RoumZen" But I refused to, fearing someone could falsely think that I'm a "fanboy".

Yeah, I'm quite happy with it, considering that my mother was giving me the name by accident, it should have been "Ramon" actually. She was so confused. Both, my father and my mother were talking for weeks about my name. " Ramon", "Roman" ,"Ramon", "Roman",.... On the way home from the registry office, my mother asked my father: Which name did I say? Ramon or Roman?
