So great news for fans of Stargate. MGM has recently announced they are slating a brand new Stargate movie trilogy to be directed by Roland Emmerich, the director of the original movie from 1994. Unfortunately it will probably not be before 2017 that the first of the movies will be in theatres.

Complete aside: Being of ill health, I always wonder if I will be alive to see the next movie in a series I like (pretty morbid no?). So far I've been fortunate enough to see quite a few of The Hobbit movies. Since Hollywood seems to remake the same movies over & over, due to the frail nature of life, there will always be some movie in your favorite series that you'll never see. My psychologist could have a field day with all of this!
Complete Complete aside: Warren Zevon wanted to be alive long enough to see a movie (Superman I think) which was in production when he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He did live long enough to see it, but died very shortly thereafter. It is a fact that the terminally ill will usually hang on long enough to witness an event which is in their short term future.

Sorry about your ill health. I hope you get to see many many many more movies.

Yeah that is kinda morbid I guess. Keep coming up with new goals I'd say. Do you want to see the Stargate movies?

Yes I do like the original movies. I have the entire Stargate tv series (all of them) on my media server. I wish I could get my wife to stop watching the Hallmark channel long enough to get her involved in something else. I really like having entire seasons of shows I like. You can sit down & watch several episodes all at one time. Just whip out the popcorn & beer & a good time is had by all. We've stayed up till all hours saying to each other, "just ONE more episode" but then it's another & another until we only end up with a few hours of sleep before work. We never watched Dexter on cable, but ended up watching every season in this manner. It was a 2 week Dexter marathon.

I do that too. It's crazy how I can devour entire seasons in the blink of an eye. Like I did with Stargate, Star Trek and BSG for example.
