We’ve released a new build to the Opt-in branch on Steam today. The new build will be labelled as v v2.0.5.245 in the Options screen. For information on how to access the Opt-in developer builds, please follow this link: How to Access Developer Builds. This new build primarily addresses the issue many of you have reported about not being able to enter the Arctic Expedition Voyage of Discovery, as well as a couple of nasty crashes. This build does, however, also introduce a couple of new known issues, so you may wish to keep playing on your current build. As always, we recommend playing with the latest build available on the regular branch of Steam (v2.0.5.122) for the most stable experience. Nevertheless, if you’re a fearless bug hunter then please do feel free to dive into v2.0.5.245 and report any new bugs and glitches you encounter. New Features- A new card’s info button now has a downstate when pressed.
- Sticker dragging from the left side of the timeline has been improved.
Fixes- Fix for not being able to enter the Arctic Expedition Voyage of Discovery.
- Fix for crash when using Finger of God directly before entering a Voyage of Discovery.
- Fix for the camera occasionally locking after using the Finger of God to destroy an Abode.
- Fix for erratic camera behaviour when moving over certain areas of the landscape.
New Known Issues For the full list of known issues, please read through our Known Issues thread on the Steam community forum.
- The tabs at the top of tutorial pop-up message boxes mention ‘Settlements’ twice. This causes the other tabs to be slightly pushed off of the message box.
- The shadows on the edges of tutorial pop-up message boxes don’t fit to the edges of the box. This is purely a cosmetic issue.
As always, should you find any new bugs or glitches please be sure to report the issue via the Kickstarter backers’ forum, the Steam Early Access forum, or the 22cans Support portal. The more people who report a bug, the more complete an idea of the number of people being affected by it we get and this helps us prioritise which bugs get fixed first. If you have any other questions, please feel free to drop our support team a message via Support@22cans.com. In the meantime, the team are currently hunkering down and sprinting hard as we get closer to releasing a major update with new features and functionality for Settlements...and more besides. That’s all for now and you can rely on us to keep you up to speed with our progress right here on our blog.

Matthew Allen, why are you making announcements while England is fighting for its life to stay in the World Cup?

Matthew Allen, why are you making announcements while England is fighting for its life to stay in the World Cup? Matthew hails from the USA, so while he may be keeping track of the game, I doubt he'd be cheering for us filthy Redcoats!

Much like sports, this update doesn't excite me enough to bother.

I think you meant to say 'Minor improvements'.

Is anyone here actually downloading and playing these opt-in builds? They're presented to us as a response to the community requesting more frequent updates, but they're transaparently a way for 22Cans to get extensive free testing for the latest mobile fixes.

I'm playing them, if only to try and get my money's worth... I've crashed out already quicker than any previous optin build when I dare to do anything during a store, in this case boosting a builder attempting to build an expansion site

I'm playing them, if only to try and get my money's worth... I'm not playing them, because I'd rather wait in vain hope that someday I'll be able to play a full game. (The game in it's current state isn't *that* fun, and 22Cans aren't paying me to be a tester.) Since it looks as though the development plan will progress along a linear path of 'unlocking new ages', it looks doubtful that any real feature change will happen in already implemented features. This isn't a sandbox game, so I'm not planning to waste time playing all the content in advance while it's incomplete.

I used to, when I was still playing the game.

I'm a developer by day job and I find it hard not to point out the problems I find, I also am not prepared for a subsequent 'if the beta testers players had tested/played xyz then the game would have been such-and-such' responses downstream. As for not paying you to be a tester, given you like I have a partner level our usage/involvement in alpha and beyond is from my point of view exactly with us being unpaid testers.
From the Kickstarter:
PARTNER - You get two special digital GODUS editions. Your followers in your Homeworld will carve a statue of your image. You also get access to GODUS Alpha where you can download and test the game with the 22cans team (not onsite)

I understand what the partner tier grants me, but I do not find the game, in its current form, to be fun. Therefore I won't spend my free time playing it. I don't feel obligated to perform manual testing, and I will not accept any blame for the game being 'sub-par', because I am not a 22Cans employee and the quality of the game is out of my hands. I gave them money, that was my role.

On the contrary, right now we're completely overhauling our Settlement mechanics along with a bunch of other refinements to existing systems. I'm looking forward to seeing how that takes shape!

Matthew hails from the USA, so while he may be keeping track of the game, I doubt he'd be cheering for us filthy Redcoats! Ahaaaaa! But you were watching the game right? I've been keeping an eye on the game myself. US has a match with Germany this Thursday that I may try to catch, but to be honest the US' team seems to be a bit over optimistic this year. Anyway, sorry for getting off topic!

Anyway, sorry for getting off topic! Bend over and prepare to receive your punishment. Why is the US team over optimistic? I have more faith in them now than I ever had before. Just make sure you tie Germany and all will be fine.

We are playing a heck of a lot better than Spain and some thought they were contenders. I think Portugal is a really strong team and we almost beat them. Germany is going to be a tough one. I hate to say it but I think they will be our downfall. I hope I am wrong.

As long as you are not playing USA or Netherlands, UK is now on my list to root for. I am torn who to root for if you play Croatia. I know I am off topic....I am curious to see if Ba'al will tell me to bend over to receive my punishment too. LOL.

Good to see you're rooting for UK. Too bad they're not playing anymore.
Now bend over while I get my spanker.
