Hi all!
It's been a while (a long while actually) since i've shown my face anywhere near Godus.. i believe i gave 2.0 a few hours, but completely abandoned the game since. So how is it now? Mainly: - Is it still a F2P game without the possibility to pay? - Is the obnoxious tutorial removed? - Are regular patches / content updates (like, more then once in a blue moon)
- Is it actually fun to play now?
I truly hope the game has gotten better in the past months, but won't install it if it is still anything like 2.0 was.

Lets start at the top: - Yes, the PC release is still without microtransactions - however it is effectively a modified version of the mobile game and will remain so untill such a time that 22cans deems the mobile version ready for release and they can focus fully back on PC (Or so they say), this is expected to be before the year is out. - As far as I'm aware the tutorial is still there and will likely not be removed untill such a time that 22cans turns the focus back to PC (and mobile has been released) - There are periods of frequent and less frequent patches to the game itself, however Matthew and George (community managers) are doing a reasonable job at keeping the information flowing. The information isn't always what a PC player would want to hear, but atleast there is no silence.
- Is the game fun to play now? This is a question you can only answer for yourself. I've seen people who are relatively satisfied with the current progress, I've seen those that aren't happy with the current game but are hopeful about the direction and there are those that still have doubts that we'll ever see the game we were originally promised.
My suggestion on this last point, if you're looking for a PC title rather than a modified mobile title you should wait untill the end of the year atleast so that 22cans has had time to put some actions behind their words. There are some interesting movements going (I recommend looking at the discussions about dynamic water and the settlement revamp), but for the most part its a waiting game.

Also there is a supposedly huge update scheduled to be released soon (maybe 1 or 2 weeks, maybe even sooner) that has, among other things, dynamic water.

So an obvious follow up, they released the mobile to some minor markets (I guess the ones they don't mind blowing up) which generated absolutely no publicity so I guess they went down like a lead balloon... Any news on when are they going to release Godus in the play store in a G7 country?
Also are we at 52% yet or has Peter stopped taking the ... and realised the only person laughing at that joke is him and Jack?

Since the official word was that Hubworld would break the 50% barrier, I doubt they'd have the audacity to try to make that claim just yet...

I have spent a couple of hours today to see if there are many improvements since the last version. I'm playing on the OSX version - no idea if that makes the slightest bit of difference.
There are a number of changes. Peter now drones on about how you are supposed to do things. I'm not sure that it helps as he obviously has a better idea of what is expected throughout the still rather linear path. Okay, you have choices but the game does not proceed until you have met the criteria required.
Belief seems harder to get in the early stages. In previous versions I thought that it got easier and easier as the game progressed but now the timers really kill me. The gems are an essential part of progress and despite my vow that I wouldn't use them, all are now gone just to try to get to a self sufficiency. I didn't get there.
I have never enjoyed the in game 'Lemmings' voyages. They are now an essential part of the game where gems and stickers are eventually awarded - unless you are careless. The you get a timer restarted.
All in all the game looks slightly better but I'm finding the timers are really oppressive and far too many long delays so early in the game. I'm sure that the delays are through my inadequacy as a game player but suspect that most folk will give up far sooner than I have - especially those that didn't pay too much.
I just want to swap my Kickstarter pledge for a wash and brush up of Populous or Black & White. Godus - there remains too little game controlled by too many timers, too early in the game.
Edit: And don't even get me started on that fucking popup that tells you that you can trade your gems for belief or harvest.
