So whats the general opinion? Too much farmville, offline gaming, censoring, in a nutshell.
I was hoping for a populous like game, and i am deeply disappointed right now.

You're not the only one. When I think back now about how I felt back in November last year, I was so excited. Over the course of development of Godus this excitement has faded into a dim and somewhat painful memory as disappointment was stacked upon disappointment.

When I signed up to the kickstarter I stupidly believed in Peter and team to deliver a honest 21st century version of Populous. I've made a lot of allowances for the fact it has to be a comercial sucess but the product I see is, to be polite an embarisment, their is little to no game play. You can finish the bronze age. I'm even starting to wonder is PM is that active in the project, when in the last time the dynamic dueo did a video update showing off their product?
And don't you dare complain too loud on their forums otherwise the Augers will first try to loose your thread then lock it sighting some joke rule book they don't bother adhear to. In fact if I posted this on their boards the thread would be locked and I would have recieved an official warning...

Indeed things have been going downhill over there ever since the augurs were instated. It didn't take long before I received my 'official warning'.

Well I once posted this responding on someone saying trees giving buffs was pretty lame.
Soon after I received a PM stating the following.

I've had an official warning from an Auger, when I questioned if they had the authority to issue one they went very quiet.
I've also had many mails telling me that if I didn't remove content I would be suspended...
To be honest I've got so feed up with the censorship on the official chat that I constantly seem to be pushing the boundaries in the hope of finally getting suspended for good...

I never got a warning. But they moved, merged and deleted a lot of my threads and postings. It took a while to realise that. Sometimes they deleted my postings a few seconds after i wrote them. They are really good in manipulating the community. I hate such things. It makes me suspicious. Look at the forum completly about manipulating people. Staff most of the time posting to positive threads (with postings like: "that's great want to see more of this"). Mods deleting postings without warning. Even some of the backer made me suspicious. Extremly positive first time postings after month without any posting. Then the "Alpha Incident". One Update, then a voting and then ... completly miffed. If they had told me that they need money and they would give us something to compensate the alpha access i would have said ok, do it. But i got the feeling they wanted to invest as little as possible in the backers (hand signed artwork ... yes it's a little bit of work to sign that much artworks, but really do it 10min a day and you are through bevor godus is released finally). There was never openness. Sorry. What do you think the other rewards will be and what about the making of they wanted to do? I am pretty sure it will be all video updates in one big Video. As I said, expect the lowest possible Level you can think about and it will only be a little bit less. But on the other hand i hope someone will make the great game it could have been.

The modorating really got my goat. The rules clearly stated that no shadow editing but yet it seemed that overly critical posts either got deleted or edited without warning or notification. It wasn't like this at the start, I got several warning mails asking "can you tone it down" and I respected that. Then you have the crazy accounts which seem to post the most stupid pro-Godus messages you could imagine. I saw one where someone claimed that 1.3 have reduced their clicking by well over half as they no longer bothered flatten mountains any longer. What? thats not reducing the clicking, thats you adapting your gameplay to over come the fact your sick and tired of clicking... guess what, if you didn't flatten the mountaions the clicking would be significently less in 1.2...

I have just received another warning. Yay! The post in question was " October is only halfway done. Allow me to help you with the math there, that's about 1 post a week. A new one is probably just around the corner. Besides, even if there's only two posts so far this month, that's still infinite times more than what 22cans have posted since they've posted absolutely nothing. www.youtube.com/user/ShiningRock ... ture=watch Also, the videos that 22cans have posted in the past amounted to a lot of yadayadayada, so they didn't mean shit. twitter.com/ShiningRockSoftwww.banishedforum.com/Who gives a shit about a lame webcam that shows absolutely nothing? You must be playing daily flute solos to this shit the way you talk about it. Pwnd! I'm not a fan, I only found out about that project fairly recently and I only check in from time to time. I made a comparison between the way that guy handles his project versus how a whole team of 20+ developers handle this project. You obviously haven't taken the time to read even one post because if you had then you would know just how ridiculous that statement was. Yet more unfounded arguments. Listen kiddo, just because you've mastered the alphabet doesn't mean you can come play with the big boys."

Nothing to hear from 22cans. I am sure they work hard to release the f2p mobile version. Wasn't that planned release in November? Maybe they are under pressure from the publisher?
It's kind of funny how they are not able to post a single meaningful post on their own forum. I should log in to zen desk, i am able to do it with my twitter account (which i don't have), where i can log in with my facebook account (which i don't have, too). If they can put all the information about the game in a twitter post it has to be really good. If i think back, the communication was twitter like for the whole project - short and uninformative updates ...
But hey, isn't it time for a new great announcment in the press, to slap the backers in the face?

Indeed. It's been a while since they took the kickstarter 'promises' and went completely the other way. But then again, what 'promises' are still left to be broken?

Come to think of it, I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't going to be a Linux version. Or if they announced that the one player story line by James Leach isn't going to happen.

I saw Sam post today that they'll be sending out some tweets about what developers are working on. I've seen about 3 so far. I guess that at least lets us know something.

I was never so sorry to be right in my life. I saw the writing on this wall as soon as I heard the word "gems", and they all know it. They sold out. Pure and simple. Too bad they don't have to balls to admit it, or I could at least have held some shred of respect for them. As of today..................all gone.
