I play several "free to play" games on iOS (iPad), and don't necessarily have a problem with the gameplay / revenue model. I've gotten quite used to it, and like the fact that I can play these types of games super casually. I used to play MMORPG's, and got completely burned out on the never-ending gear grind to keep up. Being able to open the game, play for a few minutes, then close it is actually a good thing for me these days. However, most of them have mechanics in place that allow you to play for hours if you really want to (without spending $$).
Before I dive in, I should also mention that I generally will not spend real $$ on F2P games unless I find myself playing a lot. So far that's been one game (not going to advertise it here). I play enough F2P games that times & patience aren't an issue, I just move on to the next one.
Enter Godus:
Installed the game over the weekend. Found it amusing and slightly addicting (and still do, kinda). Compared to other F2P games I play, this seems very greedy with the timers and currency that limit gameplay. From what I can tell, there is nothing about this game that would allow the user to play for a couple hours without spending boatloads of real $$.
Frustrations thus far:

Frustrations thus far:
- When Wheat enters the game, it slows everything down dramatically
- There are several things that require lots of Belief, depleting it with little effort (2-3 minutes or less most of the time)
- The Belief wells cap quickly; if not tapped often, you lose out on a lot of the major currency in the game
- Sculpting chews up massive amounts of belief, and the mechanic allows for easy accidental use, as well as accidentally sculpting the wrong layer
- You can't rotate the camera view
I'll chime in with updates should things change as I get further into the game.
