I don't think it is any secret that Ba'al is away and I have been trying to think of things to occupy my time. I had been talking to a few members and it danwed on me. You all are gamers! I am a casual type of gamer but I would love to see if any of you would be interested in some type of game where you would play with me or some of other posters online. I know I might sound like a boob, but I don't which games allow for stuff like that. I know that me and Ba'al could plan Civ 4 on a LAN online but are there games where you can have group of people playing online together? If there are, what kind of games are they? I am up to try anything, but me personally pale in comparison to most of you. Please let me know if anyone has some ideas and where these games can be obtained and how to make them join to play together online. I would love to have the honour of playing some video games with our community. It is not just about me either, feel free for anyone to make suggestions for any other posters to play as well. Here are some PC games I have played before. I am going to leave out the FB games, because those were in my past, anyone else is welcome to play those together if they want too. I really like the games where you have chat. Settlers Online Final Fantasy Kingdom of Hearts Tomb Raider Dark Gauntlet Monkey Island Theme Hospital CIV 4 The Sims Sim City Populous Roller Coaster Tycoon WOW And let us not forget.....Godus.

Well, I'm not very big on co-op or pvp games, but I have played them. Use to play LAN games with my brothers (usually Rts games like Warcraft, Starcraft, C&C, etc.), and have done MMORPGs (WoW, CoH, Chapmions, D&D, LotR, etc.) But it's been ages since I've had either the time or inclination to play in a group. I'll think on it a bit.

Out of your list Civ 4 is really the only game that is doable as online multi-player, at least as far as I'm aware of. Oh no, WoW is of course also an option, but not really as much of a game as it is a virtual world. Settlers Online doesn't count. That's just multiple people each "playing" a single-player game.

Neptunes pride 2 is an interesting online game and f2p although in a very good way. Funnily enough there are timers and waiting but it's a simple game with a very deep PvP strategy.

Drat, I was hoping Sim City might do it. It would have to be SimCity 5 then, and I've heard nothing but bad things about it.

When I played it it was buggy as. It did have multiplayer capability but when I played it the multiplayer part was unplayable. The interactions between cities just didn't work which was really frustrating because you needed to trade to make it playable.

It did have multiplayer capability but when I played it the multiplayer part was unplayable. The interactions between cities just didn't work which was really frustrating because you needed to trade to make it playable. SimCity 5 isn't THAT bad in and of itself, especially if you have the expansion stuff for futuristic cities. It just.... Has a manual. Much like Godus it requires you to game the game, to play in certain ways to avoid its weak spots. The tracking and pathfinding is horrid, so if you rely heavily on traffic-based systems (commuting, tourism, industry/trade by trucks) your roads are going to be jammed. Overtime they did manage to implement some fixes for that, so that you can now use tunnels and bridges to create cross-town avenues that aren't forced to also be intersections (intersections are evil...) And with the futuristic expansion you can build mega towers which can be made almost entirely self-sustaining cutting down massively on a lot of traffic. That said, the plots are small because the game is made to have cities 'trade' with other cities (players?) in the region, and regions go from 4 to 16 plots/players IIRC. Effectively it is impossible to create a self-sustaining metropolis. The high wealth/high tech stuff gets ganked if you have too much industry or pollution, tourism/gambling creates tons of traffic if done wrong (and gambling == crime increase) and so on. So the game isn't all that bad, its just not what you'd expect if you're used to the older SimCities. That said, they have announced that the NEXT SimCity will 'feature' offline play and massive cities (I can't help but feel that someone at EA is acting like they do at 22cans 'well fine, if you want that then I'll give you that *pout*')

My wife and I (she posts under the peteroverpromise tag) Have been playing a few games lately. Planetside 2 World of Tanks Defiance LoL Dota 2 Giving the Free to play PC arena a shot Obviously our powers combine into a pretty casual gaming experience, but if you ever find yourself(selves) on these games, hit us up (we usually chat over skype/google hangouts, or a Ventrillo server). Edit: We used to be big on WoW, Rift, Aion, etc but our family keeps getting bigger and we keep having less time for the MMO scene.

If you enjoy the idea of World of Tanks and you like the show Robowars, I'd recommend Robocraft (currently available on steam) - it allows you to create your own vehicles (tanks, hovercraft and even planes) from various blocks and with various weapons.

Unless you count the 'training grounds' - there's no way to play it offline. So yes. You can.

Planetside 2 is gooooood. Haven't had a chance to play in a while, though.
I've always found Civ's networking code to be rather shoddy and break down not long after starting, but maybe they sorted that out in Brave New World. Could also have to do with my always trying to play with a friend living in Africa with internet powered by chicken blood and conveyor belts.
