Hmmm.... I do believe so - the upcoming War for the Overworld will also carry some multiplayer modes (not 100% sure if they're in the current beta version though, I'd have to doublecheck)
I think there might be some talk of having a player play as the "hero" faction aswell as the various dungeon keeper versus dungeon keeper modes.

I double Space Engineers and Borderlands.

Myself I don't often play multiplayer games (I am a very despicable person, after all, and thus have no friends

) and when I do, I tend to do co-op, not pvp. And mainly in the healer role as I like to have control over my and my mates's survival.
