Ok so I got rid of the Astari, and I moved my people into the village. Was that wrong? Now, once a day at least I have to "finger of God" a farmer in that village because he come a out of the settlement and makes himself homeless. What do I do?

I get that too, but I just lead them to an empty plot, and they start farming. They are still homeless, but at least they are working. It's weird because when they get tired, they just fall asleep in their field.

The funny part is that bug has only started happening for me in the last three or so days. The astari settlement has been under my control from three days after launch. Are there any "changes" they can make to in game behavior without an update? Or is this triggered homeless problem just one of the wonderful little minigames they've lovingly laid out for us? Lead the farmer into an open field and give him "the finger".

A few years later I was still searching for a better solution for the homeless-farmer-problem. And I figured out another way, that I want to share with all of those who experience the same problem. For me worked the following:
Build a new Farming Settlement
Leash the homeless farmer towards the settlement
He will enter the house and live there as a new farmer. Yey!
