You know I just achieved all maximum levels within the current Godus beta, all the cards, Population, ore and wheat and (I think) all the expansions. In the dialogue from one card, Peter says that you are close to completing Godus.
Just as speculation, if I were designing a game and released it in beta, I think that I would ask those that 'finish' what they thought of it. Surely they are kind of experts?
...just thinking.

They would if they thought you had any input they think was important. We already know that this is the game he wants to make not the game we want him to make.

I almost spit out my drink when he said that in the commentary. Surly he simply meant, "the end of the current content" and misspoke. It's probably also tailored to the mobile game, but even then I'm certaineven that doesn't have an "end game" yet. So I don't know what he was thinking with that comment - or why they had the gaul to include it. Seriously, I laughed out loud afterwards and manically said "bullshit" at the screen (my wife gave me an odd look) and almost deleted the game right then.
So, either he is completely lying to mislead players, or he seriously thinks this game is nearly feature completed; both of which is a bold thing to actually admit in-game, while still assuring the desktop players that they fully intend to deliver. I mean, we're not even up to "bronze age" in the cards yet, so to say this is just complete horse hockey.

*rollseyes* - I 'played' through the current content without sound while watching stuff on my laptop. So frankly I didn't even hear the commentary after I reached the farming settlements. Its quite priceless though, how often Peter contradicts himself. Going from "you have to save gems" to "spend all your gems, waiting is boring... it takes far too long" aswell as "save your stickers, don't get these cards they are useless..." to "you have to get these cards!" and ofcourse the altime favorite "You shouldn't sculpt too much" to "by this point all your followers should be busy building new buildings and its important that you sculpt enough to provide them with space for that".
Though honestly, I think that Peter believes the current content is so compelling and will last the average mobile player long enough for them to have time to develop more voyages and other content. (Yes, cause voyages will represent such compelling content and a reason to keep on playing...)

I really do think all that's meant by this line is the current content. It's why he follows it up with the whole implementing new ages part.

I found it rather amusing to listen to Peter contradict himself at every turn in the commentary. If he thinks it's compelling to sound like a complete fool, then mission accomlished.

I'm waiting for the Ba'al transcript of the voiceover. I did start to play with it on but it is even more annoying than the general video content.

I haven't "finished" GODUS because it's not interesting enough to play any further.
My question is what next 22cans? It's been what 3 weeks since the mobile launch? What next?
Is hubworld the next content update? It feels like you have been working on this forever.

Have 22cans gone back in their bunker mentality? Peters comments about bullying certainly suggest this and there seems to have been another communication blackout going on. All the comments I've seen from George/Matthew don't convey any interesting information.

I will have a look if there's an audio file somewhere that I can play. Coz I'm not playing the damn game so I can listen to the rambling.
EDIT: Nice, it's 39 freakin' files.

I'm waiting for the Ba'al transcript of the voiceover. I did start to play with it on but it is even more annoying than the general video content. Here comes the first part. 01Peter Molyneux Hello ehm welcome to Godus the PC version. This is Jack and I going to do a developer commentary explaining some of the features, explaining why they’re not finished, explaining our thoughts behind them. You can always turn off our slightly aggravating voices especially ehm… Jack Attridge Mine. Peter Molyneux …if you, well I don’t know about yours, mine is more gravelly. Ehm we do recording this in the studio so if you hear any weird noises behind or swearing we apologize in advance. Jack Attridge Authentic. Peter Molyneux Yeah. So, here we go, ehm. We’re gonna do these, these commentaries are gonna come across as you unlock features in the game and we’re gonna explain what those features are. We’re doing this while we’re playing through so this is kind of an honest account of what’s going on. You can always as I said turn us off in the settings menu. Jack Attridge [some unrecognizable word] Peter Molyneux Click to continue. 02Peter Molyneux Here we are at the start of the game. Ehm, the first thing we wanted to do is to give you a feeling of connection with your two followers. Now, this is something that we’re gonna be working on over the forthcoming months. Ehm, I like this very simple beginning. I love the idea that everything that’s gonna come from this. You should remember this first moment when you only had two followers. The first thing of course is sculpting. Now sculpting is designed to be as relaxing as possible. Over the months we have pulled back on sculpting, so don’t oversculpt is my advice to you. Only sculpt when you need to sculpt. But you don’t want to get too tired. We don’t want to take their power to sculpt, we just don’t want you to overdo it. So, you shouldn’t be doing this every second of the day and it’s, later in the game it’s gonna cost you a lot to sculpt. Remember, the sculpting on sand is completely free. But, buildings you put on land are, on sand are less effective. 03Peter Molyneux Ehm, you’ve just been asked to remove rocks. Ehm, rocks are a fantastic store of belief. Ehm, my big tip, first big tip to you is don’t o don’t destroy too many rocks, because later on they’re a really good way of getting, topping up your belief. Ehm, they seem like a negative, but actually later in the game when you unlock mining they become a positive so be careful with your rocks. 04Peter Molyneux Right, you’ve received your first proper abode. Now, abodes have followers in them. There are two types of followers that live in this type of abode. One are breeders. If an abode has breeders in that means more people are bred, fairly obvious that. They also have workers. Now you will notice that little pip appears over an abode. When a worker has something to do you can click on that pip. At this moment that’s pretty much the only thing you can do with workers, but very soon now you’ll be unlocking leashing. There’s lots of powerful things that you can do with leashing. So it will seem a little bit grindy for a while. We just want to get you totally used to the idea that workers live in abodes, breeders breed, abodes give you things like belief. So bare with us because you know the real strategy starts coming in a little bit later. 05Peter Molyneux Here we are in the timeline. Now we’ve gone through a ton of revisions haven’t we on this timeline. Jack Attridge Yeah. It started out as a book. And then ehm where did we go from the book? I think we’ve had many iterations of the timeline. Peter Molyneux Yeah, many iterations. And really what we wanted to get to is a feeling for you ehm that you were in control of what was unlocked and when it was unlocked. So there’s two stages, that first ehm the first strip you can scroll through now and you can see where your advances are happening. There’s some truly exciting advances in there. New to the PC build is the completely new settlement thing, we’ll come to that later. But you know, you need to be a little bit strategic, especially with the cards in the second row which is the cards that you’ve discovered or unlocked by filling your bars up and ehm you’re going to unlock with stickers. Now, my big advice to you is don’t waste your stickers. You’re gonna find there seem like you’ve got a lot of stickers at the start of the game but as you go through you realize that say being very strategic about the use of your stickers. Now this first one is about [some unrecognizable word(s)] settlers and it allows you to build this new abode. Jack Attridge So I mean, you can use the undiscovered cards timeline to see have you got more than one type of card coming in after one another and decide whether you want to save up. I’ll end up having a few cards that I’ll never complete coz I wanna save up for something bigger coz it gets tougher later on. Peter Molyneux Yeah, definitely. And again this is part of the deeper strategy. The thing I like about this is if you can’t be bothered with that strategy you don’t have to, you can just stick your stickers on randomly. Your game is not going to be so naturally flowing if you do that, but if you are someone who I’m like this who you know like a Civilization player that likes to unlock the things that they actually want, so.

Peter: "Hello ehm welcome to Godus the PC version."
Well, there you go. That answered my question as to whether he was referring to the PC or Mobile when he says, "you are close to completing Godus" in the commentary.

There's a lot of stuff in there already that I could comment on. Indeed. Like all of #5 is essentially them highlighting the exact problems with the "timeline" as though it's a great design.

I am aware that there are a lot of grammatical discrepancies in there, but I assure you that is Molyneux speak. There's a lot of stuff in there already that I could comment on. Indeed. Apparently the strategy is sooo deep that it doesn't matter what you do.
