My latest stonehearth construction, a giant tower! Lots of working around AI bugs to get it done, but satisfying to do for sure!

Yea I am backing this one. There are a few people complaining about Planetary Annihilation. But I have a month to look at how that kickstarter has been handled. Any one back or follow PA around here?

I followed it a bit. Looked promising. Execution appears to have been lacking as far as most were concerned. Very minimal difference between factions as I understand it, poorly optimized for middling to low end machines (thus requiring fairly high end machines, from the sounds of it), the always online DRM has still yet to be removed despite it being a key factor in the Kickstarter, the Galactic Warfare game mode is essentially campaign skirmish with no significant depth to it, and for many people, it feels like it was pushed to release status far too soon. Oh, and there's no save option in single skirmish maps, only in galactic warfare mode, for some bizarre reason.

I backed it and played the Beta for a while. But consistently having my rump handed to me by elitist jerkoffs turned me off to it (at the time it was only online multiplayer). Since it's launched they have included a single player game, but I have yet to take the time to go back and try it. This new project looks interesting though. I'm also really considering Stonehearth now, as well as a few others mentioned in this forum; tho I might wait for official launch - thanks to Godus.

Oh, and there's no save option in single skirmish maps, only in galactic warfare mode, for some bizarre reason. I preordered it as Cosmic Edition. And yes, there are no factions. The pool of units is one and the same, being slightly limited in Galactic Warfare. Everything else as described above. But it's still epic. So epic that it requires powerful CPU.

The best thing on Stonehearth is their regular (in term of weekly) updated and tons of infos you get from them. That is how crowdfunded games should be presented and promoted. It shows your audience that you're actually actively developing and also what are the current construction sites of your game and what you can expect to be changed in the next release. Also they listen to their costumers/fans/playerbase and care about their complains (of gameplay nature).
---
Stating that you can't give a roadmap because of using iterative design/agile development just shows that you actually aren't able to do iterative design/agile development correctly and you haven't got any clue what you're actually doing. It's like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand does and what it will be doing in the next 3 minutes ...
---
I backed PA in a very early stage and play it from time to time. Even though they released it as final some weeks ago, they still actively develop it and add features (offline mode) and bugfixes and I believe there will be some very nice features that are coming even now the game is released.

I got it on steam the other week when these threads reminded me I forgot to KS back it. Do you have link for that? I want it after watching that vid clip. I just see a message saying it has been greenlit by community but I don't see it in the store? EDIT.... Okay, I see you have to buy it on Stonehearth.net and then they will give you the Steam key, it says it is not available directly from Steam yet, is this correct? NM, I got it. I now have that game. I hope it is as much fun as it looks.

Lord Ba'al : fanboy Yeah..in 2015 if we're lucking, their decisions are (entirely) financially motivated (as george also mentioned in his long topic on steam)

I gave up hope. For many reasons but mostly financials: It's just not reasonable to after so long in development erase everything but a few lines of code and art assets and start again. Reading steam forums and people complain about being mislead and 22Cons making a turn in direction Godus is taking, has got me thinking: Did they really change direction? Sure from KS pitch to announcement of DeNa agreement there was a shift in priorities but did Godus as a code change? We had mobile look and feel from the first bubble popping in the first alpha. From that point Godus was always on a straight track to Farmville only slightly refining it's features. No major shift in features. No 'incremental development' where features are thrown out (yea they experimented a bit with stickers, timeline and moving of followers, there never was a question do we need stickers). All we get is a more and more polished mobile game.

I also don't believe they did not know it was going to be when they were wooing the shit out of the PC classic God game lovers to get their cash. I find the entire thing to put a disgusting taste in my mouth. Then they started with their spin and have never stopped. Spin and misleading vague comments, they should be ashamed of themselves.
