From reading posts both on this forum and on the 22Cans forum I got the impression that a fair amount of members of the community have experience of some sorts with either software or game development. So I thought let's make a poll and maybe we'll find out.
By the way, the votes will be anonymous so it won't be possible to see who voted for what. I hope you will leave a post if you are okay with sharing the options you have chosen. Perhaps you have remarks you would like to add as a side note.
My choices were - I have some knowledge about software development - I have some knowledge about computer game development (only just beginning) - Computer game development is a hobby of mine (only just beginning) - I have some experience with graphics - I have some experience with 3D modeling (only just beginning) - I have some experience with sound engineering - I have some experience writing code - I acquired my skills through schooling - I acquired my skills through self study

Let me see ... -I have some knowledge of computer game development -Computer game development is a hobby of mine -I work as a computer game developer -I have some experience with graphics -I have some experience with 3D modeling -I have some experience writing code -I acquired my skills through schooling -I acquired my skills on the job -I acquired my skills by self study But to be honest it's hard to define experience ... to put in in years: 11 years hobby / semi-professional and 1 year professional experience. What can I say ... that happens when you early on know what you want to do in life

Started off main frame programming on LATC-Mil in the early 80‘s, leading onto Database programming and more recently into IT Security and system design for govt and Defence Industry.
Therefore some development experience but none relevant to anything useful these days! It's bad when you see old tech that you used to work on in museums.
Punchcard anyone?

Thought I'd give this thread a bump seeing as we've gotten a lot of new members lately.

It's pretty hard to decide if one has "a lot of" or "some" experience
