It was another failing EA developer complaining about community. There seems to be a pattern here. Peter made a gamble that people will fall for his name and will like whatever he makes. Turns out a lot of people were fans of Populous and Dungeon Keeper, Black & White rather than fans of Peter. Only few are fine with whatever pile Peter is trying to feed them and want more of the same.

But have you ever read about the feelings and mood of the community in any of the press articles? Only when PM told them how terrible we are. Perhaps we should try to push some large gaming sites to do interviewss with the godus community. I nominate Danjal for speaker.

I've sent emails to multiple gaming sites providing links to some of the more pertinent/persistent quandaries on the forums. None of them seem interested. Maybe someone with a bit more tact could plead our case and get some light shed on this comedy of errors.

Perhaps we should see how many we could get on board if need be and make sure they are all fairly level headed intelligent coherent requests?

Who knows, with this latest iOS8 kerfuffle, maybe someone will want to pay this train-wreck some attention.

iOS kerfuffle aside - given that I lost any ability to play the game on PC a week ago when all settlements and 95% of population vanished - with no forum comments or response to the support case after optin update trashed the already slightly trashed PC update- I'm beginning to wonder if any of you are still playing at all.

Ofcourse I'm not playing - I'm waiting on them to significantly overhaul the game to make playing worthwhile. Repeating the same old shit isn't exactly compelling gameplay.

The most time I've spent with it recently has been sweeping through the world to check some stuff and then making voxel "art" of dinosaurs.

Lol waiting for more content and the game being less of a grind. I got to the point where I needed to expand to the top of that big hill and I just couldn't be bothered flattening land and micro managing the growth of settlements so I just stopped playing.

I haven't played the PC game in about 6 months. I played the global iOS release for curiosity when it came out - for a couple of days (slowly since you can't do crap quickly without paying $) until deleting. I frequent here with some small misguided hope that things turn around but really I think its just watching the continuing train wreck.

As to edit my previous statement - last time I played was with the settlement overhaul and introduction of the Pit of Doom. And I played through the entire games worth of content at that point in time. Since then, I've been awaiting further content injections to make continued play worthwhile. As I'm not a big fan of repeating voyages or mindless expansion for the sake of expansion.

See, I wouldn't mind expansion for the sake of expansion if: 1. I wasn't constrained by stupid beacons to only go where allowed to go. 2. Followers could build their own boats and go on sea voyages, thus not needing land bridges be sculpted between every bloody continent/island 3. Random terrain was a thing, so every island was new and different.
I could actually get a lot of mileage out of simply exploring, growing a settlement or two then bouncing to another island.
Bonus points for wildlife, interesting terrain features and a minimap so my pov could skip around easily.

Dunno man, if the game was as it is right now - minus the features you mention. What point would there be to keep expanding?
I'd still like there to be something more than just painting the map if you will. The terrain would have to be pretty darned interesting to make that worth it. I'd compare it to how you explore and expand in Minecraft. With Minecraft offering a much larger box of tricks to play with and more versatility. Imagine exploring in Minecraft if *everything* was a plains biome or whatnot.

And I played through the entire games worth of content at that point in time. I play the game for maybe 20-30 minutes each time there's a patch, so there's actually a lot of content I know haven't seen. I have a very low tolerance for repetitive drudgery though. I feel I've seen enough to know that it's not interesting yet.

I have to say this disappointments me.
Yes the current drudge fest has issues but at least up to pit of doom, I'd never managed to play the 4 weeks or whatever we actually had of content without a catastrophic unrecoverable error. The 30 minutes worth of newness that saw, two new voyages of more lemming like poor pathing plus the torch or whatever suggested I might get a couple hours worth of play until beacons/expansion were actually pushed out or I stopped advancing again looked like nothing special it is true but having lost all settlements and 95% of population I think I'm justified for the moment in stopping.
But if none of you are actually playing and you are falling over yourself trying to push what you think they need to hear, yet you are not playing - do you see any irony in that, at all?
