Here is a thread where if you have something that just irks you, you can bitch about. This thread is not to be about Godus in any way shape or form. We have plenty of them for that type of thing already and if you want to rant about Godus things that you annoy you, please feel free to use the rant thread in that board. Anyhoo, my Pet peeve for today is video games that cannot be played on a PC. I know it is the manufacturer choice and they have sold their somewhat exclusive rights to certain platforms but it still peeves me to no end. Why can't they just allow me to not to have to spend several hundred dollars on a console if I want to play their game? On top of that, there is the fact that the PC game platform is so much more convenient to use than having to set up the console when the mood strikes. I have been scouring for a few old favorites of mine from when I had a PS3 and it seems several of them are no gos on PC. Pet peeve indeed, ergh, No Kingdom of Hearts for me till I can buy a console. Crap.

I have been scouring for a few old favorites of mine from when I had a PS3 and it seems several of them are no gos on PC. Pet peeve indeed, ergh, No Kingdom of Hearts for me till I can buy a console. Crap. If you're willing to fool around with emulation and have a decent enough rig set up, you could technically play them via PC. That's definitely one of my gaming pet peeves as well, probably even more than that is when it is ported, but it's ported badly, that's like they're just mocking you then with their incompetence or laziness. Like Rayman Forever, some of the older Final Fantasy games, and most recently FFXIII. Heck, even some mobile ports from iOS to Android are shit. Like Deus Ex: The Fall. Works great on my phone (but who wants to play a FPS on their phone?), yet audio fucks up on my tablet (which would be far better to play it on). They may have patched it since I last checked, but as far as I know it's still the same, which sucks. Another peeve unrelated to gaming but still in the realm of digital media would have to be a mixture of ebooks and music. Everyone wants you to be locked in their fucking platform, for obvious reasons, but they cripple the products provided in the process in many ways with DRM in some form or another. It's infuriating. I don't mind competing platforms, but don't compete by kneecapping your fucking customers assholes. This is why any time you see me linking games, I tend to opt for linking Humble Bundle or GOG. They may not be the best of the best or completely clean operators, but I much prefer their business approaches to the big players like Steam/Origin/uPlay for the most part. Also, for music, I don't have any solid recommendations for more popular artists, but for indies, Bandcamp's where it's at. I'm not sure of ebooks either, unfortunately, but for older books Project Gutenberg as well as OpenCulture's book list is relatively solid.

First of all, please note, your Pet peeves don't need to be about gaming or anything else for that matter, just not about that one subject I mentioned above.
I used to have a kindle so even though that broke some years back I still use the Kindle app on my laptop. I tried to go the free route by using the other free options on my laptop but the DRM killed all the books I liked. It is annoying to be stuck with only what amazon will sell but I did pick one that seems to have most everything.
The music? For me, I use Youtube. I have a smartphone that will play anything on youtube for free and my pay as you go pack in unlimited for it and our internet bundle for the house will be as well so the music is not something I every pay a penny for. I guess it helps I no longer have a car and soon will have the ability to hook up a computer to a TV with a sound system to it.
Another pet peeve I have is when someone is sick and refuses to take medicine to get better.....cough, cough,.........ahem............Ba'al. I mean if you can feel better why would you just feel like crap and not take the little pills to not feel as much like pooh? If you only take them 5 times a year, they won't hurt you and your body won't build up a tolerance to them.

Yes, but certain people literally take any form of medication only when near their deathbed. I think I have seen him take a pill maybe 5 times in 3.5 years. I don't take them all that much either, but if I get a fever to the point of aches and pains and chills then it is time for a fever reducer.

I'm another "no drugs for me thanks .. cough cough, ooh, was that blood?" Sometimes I think this is one of those masculine things, like not asking for directions. "You have a gaping wound, we need to get you stitches." "Stitches? Just let me take a hot iron to it and it'll be fine." I think I pulled something like this after I had wisdom teeth removed. Rejected those drugs like a madman, but the pain subsides quicker than you'd think (though I'm sure it varies from person to person). On another matter, can we just chalk up driving as a whole? It's the leading cause of traffic frustrations.

I will say that I used to have a million pet peeves with driving but now that I CAN'T drive for some time to come, I really do miss it.
One of my very biggest pet peeves is going out to eat and being served luke warm food, and this goes for decaf or hot tea as well. If it is supposed to be hot then you damn well bring it to me as HOT. I did not fork over my hard earned cash for cold food. I must say, I hate sending food back, but I am really going to make a promise to myself from now on, it is is not hot enough, it is going back. If you can't get it to me at the right temperature then come out and apologize and I will wait till you can make me a hot one. I would respect that more than someone trying to pass off cold food.

Drivers are assholes. Especially if they're Belgian. One time there was a bromine pentaftoride outbreak in our city. It was on a train station. And our route taxi (a name for buses not managed by government) was driven by a Azerbaijan or maybe Tajikistan gastarbeiter. This ninja managed to get us through so swiftly I didn't even notice the outbreak until after I got to the technical school (Technicum, as we call it). Now to the topic. I HATE HATE HATE HATE when people make false transcription of names and later have the nerve to behave like it's no big deal. I hate when Freud becomes Freid, when Burke /Bɜrk/ becomes /Bɛrk/, when Hearn [hɜ:rn] becomes [Hɪrn], when Tenochtitlan becomes some unintelligible shit. I hate when Texas becomes Tekhas. I hate when Mehrunes /Meɪrunɨs/ Dagon becomes Mekhroon. I hate when [Guri-za-i-ya] Becomes [Gri-sa-ya].

The shopping bags at Sainsbury's are ridiculously small. And expensive at that.
