ive completed a few beacons, ands now my followers wont build this beacon. its not covered up, i can leash nearby followers to the beacon, and they go up to it and sit down with a little symbol over their heads that appears to be a red X. what is the deal? ive got pleanty of wheat, and i boost them etc.....but i cant progress. what am i missing or doing wrong?

Is it one of the beacons that looks differently? Its possible that you have reached the point where you now need ore to build them - and the X means they indicate you don't have enough ore to build the beacon.

Might be ore or crops. Is the tiny icon above there heads green or grey? As Danjal says some later beacons need ore to be mined before they will start to build, but even the earlier ones will see them downing tools if they have no crops, if however (as I did) you do not unlock farming into much later - no such a problem.
