Something just struck me. After having Godus run continuously for a couple of weeks I noticed that I wasn't actually doing anything in the game anymore except clicking on the settlements' belief bubbles every now and then. I decided to close the game down since it was doing nothing more than eating system resources. Strangely enough, after a couple of days of not "playing" Godus, I kinda feel relieved.
It seems there is something addictive about Godus. It is something you get used to. Yet after all the hours I have spent on Godus I can't remember having felt any measure of joy. I must say that I find that thought worrisome.

It is without doubt addictive like the vast majority of F2P games are. I had 4mm of Manna but I still found myself not being able to resist popping bubbles to try to get more. Simularly I found that I spent a massive amount of time flattening large mountails for no real reason except to have a totally flat land. I do without doubt have ASD and a somewhat addictive personality which may explain it. BUT their is a problem in that while is addictive to just flatten that corner... oh may as well do that one as well... the game if fundementally boring and as stated, the moment my game crashed (which is does often) and lost the entire save game taking me back to the start I had no interest in playing it any longer and actually fealt that I had got a part of my life back!
Then their is the question of what is the game? Their's your homeworld which is like a poor mans simcity meets civilization. Their is the single player game which has the depth of a puddle and finally the multiplayer game which if you can get a game going your lucky.

It can be addictive, right now i did it in the hope for something later to come. Thats my generation of players i believe, we were grinding or trying over and over again dieing inthe first 30s of a game, something you wont find in todays games.
Realistically, if the game doesnt change, i wont play it past release, nor will i show it o my friends or kids. Its a lot of wasted time, without any sort of education purposes. In many other games you learn something, how to react in a certain situation, analyze situations, learn to manage a world, resources, money, whatever, there is always something that will ask the player to think about it. In my opinion, not so much in Godus. All the gameplay is largely meaningless at the current version.

Well i did not find it addictive like some players did mainly because i was in a rush but after 4 hours gameplay i removed it until the game got to a better state as there was not much to do really. But i doubt an update will happen.

Godus Addictive, hmmmm Addictive like smashing your hand with a hammer. A small endorphin hit, followed by many hours of suffering.

I've spent a lot of hours on godus (mainly because after first reset I tried not to destroy trees). but with every reset I was more reluctant to start again and climb that frikken cliff. In fact I never even reached bronze age. I try to filter games where there's grinding for the sake of grinding and so most of f2p games are gone from my library.

You should try to play Angry birds go-karts. It's a great F2P game to start with. The first 3 worlds are a well balanced game where you can progress without to much tedious play without spending money. Then you get to the stunt world... I have to beet Chuck to finish the game, to beet chuck I obviously need to upgrade my cart and to get it were I need it I estimate will cost ~100,000 coins. I can get ~800 coins in a Vs race so in order to complete the last race I need to play the same safe Vs race ~120 times... I can complete about 8 races in my tube journey home... I gave up... Irony is like DK I would play a lot for a non-FTP fairly balanced version of the game but would never give them a penny in the FTP format.
