i am having trouble finding my astray followers it says i have 3 but only found 1. i can't find any sad faces either, indicating that there is a homeless person nearby, it just seems like they have vanished. please help.

Are you on homeworld or weyworld?
There are a couple of astari escapees on a pair of small islands to the seaward side (left) from where the ark lands.

(Mobile player)I won 4 Astari from the last festival. I saw one swim to my home world shores and I had that one join one of my 2 Astari houses but the other ones I never saw and are nowhere to be found....

Given enough time you'll probably find them with their little emoting unhappy faces somewhere you'd missed previously.
If by chance you don't see the little emot, you might instead see an unexpected increase/decrease in your UN-happiness bar.
