I purchased the rename option a while back and still can't backspace. I can add on, but I can't actually rename it. Is this a common problem?
BTW I'm on an android RCA tablet

I'm loath to spend the gems on android but purely as an experiment since I've little else to do in PC mode and where I can recoup the gems by going psycho on my followers I suppose and use the Pit of Doom if I suddenly actually need gems...
So having spent the 25 gems I can confirm I can append to replace or return back to the original text the ... enabled text value in homeworld (not tried weyworld yet), HOWEVER it does appear that depending on how you complete your rename from the little editor mode is to not apply your changes - by that I mean when you select the info button for the abode (or whatever) and then select the ellipsis (...pen icon), depending is I used my enter/return key, or selected the close button or the tick button - I did not always get the text correctly applied. Tick and enter/return applied them. close did not. I was able to backspace, and delete and replace the text though.

Just tried weyworld, it works in the same way too - though I'm actually surprised I did NOT have to spend again to use the feature in the second world.

Since you are specific about an RCA android device, are you using a stock keyboard on that device or a custom one? Not that I can off the cuff explain why that might be the issue but it did occur to me that might be something that *cough* 22cans might not have tested in many combinations.

I am using the stock keyboard, I reported the problem numerous times but I never got the conformation email for some reason. Wasn't in junkmail either.

OK, I just downloaded it to my phone. I can rename things on my phone. So it has to be this tablet.

The tablet and the phone are both a 4.4.2 KitKat android

OK, got it figured out. It was the keyboard. The stock android keyboard wouldn't let me, but the Google swipe does.

Glad you figured it out. My original thought was that swype or a custom keyboard the fault, typical (22cans) that the stock one is the issue.
