22Cans people:
How about a zoom back "heavenly view?"
It would be very nice to have a zoom back button to click on with the IOS version of Godus so we could see our entire world at one time, locate Astari etc., and be able to see any new continents if and when we get the promised "mean tribe" and more land to play in. Please do NOT address this last issue with a schooner or cruise ship headed to yet another world. As a God I deserve the ability to see my whole creation which I have needlessly wasted many hours making incredibly beautiful and efficient at the same time. What kind of God is it that can only see small portions of His creation at a time?? Not right. Not at all right. I not only want a distant view, I want cloud wisps floating by beneath my heavenly throne. This would be amazingly cool, epic and may well increase downloads and gem sales.
Frankly I'm surprised this wasn't done to start with. Just add a button named "heavenly view." Oh, and there's probably some programming you need to do.
BTW what happened to "Monkeythumbz?" For a short time I thought at least someone from 22Cans was reading the posts here. If nobody from 22Cans is interested in feedback it would be nice to know as I don't like wasting my time.

Monkeythumbz along with the other community rep have moved on. There is another Dev that has started a very directed feedback threads on the signed up boards here.

Deth-
Thanks. Gee, all they have to do is click on the open board. Odd.
i'll think about joining in order to post elsewhere but it seems very silly.
Thanks again for the info.

The zoom out option has also been suggested a number of times before by a lot of different people going back to the first alpha version.

Ba'al-
Thanks for the info Lord of Gods. Seems there are a lot of us who see this is a good idea. Since I've never had interest in some kind of credit for ideas this is good news! The added weight of my comment may help tilt the balance a bit. Who knows?

I liked the idea of a 2d view of the world even a cut down map that was always in populous would be nice. It would just be nice to be able to screen shot the map in detail and share that.

Yep also suggested that. Even went a bit further as to suggest you could save your map and have other's load it up so they could be in your world instead of looking at a picture. I believe that was even mentioned in the kickstarter come to think of it.

As Fabs said, if this was to get implemented into the iOS version. The amount of memory needed to perform the task would most certainly cause the App to crash.

Loading someone else's map, surely your loading a map everytime we play? Or a 2D screen shot version crash Godus? Don't think last two suggestion would be a memory hog.

Alternatively provide a better implementation that means that some/all get it rather than no-one because its a memory hog.

Even the iOS version shouldn't have a problem with a screenshot or loading someone else's map but as you say if iOS can't handle the zoom out screw it, PCs can.

On the iOS version you can visit your friends worlds, but you and your friend would need to link Godus to Facebook. To implement a 2D view of the world would require some time from the artists and as well as some changes to the current system. As the artists are working on the trail, we have very limited resources in this area. Visiting friends worlds on the Desktop version would require us to create new system in order to allow everyone access to their friends worlds. It's something we could visit in the future, but right now we'll be focusing on the single player experience.

Well that still leaves a nice world screenshot as a possibility, I've seen them pieced together on Facebook but a facility to do that easily would be a nice way to show off(promote your world and Godus) at the same time.

"screw the IOS version."
Apple recently listed Godus on IOS is one of the best games in 2014. I'm not sure that 22Cans would share your opinion here. Furthermore, mobile is growing much faster that desktop computing which is likely why there is an IOS version to start with. The A7 and A8 chips are just the beginning in terms of power and speed. With all due respect Lord.

Why is it that lots of features have not been put into the PC version because the mobile wouldn't be able to handle them but the mobile version has a feature that the PC doesn't?
