Just out of interest is there anybody here with experience managing a forum like the 22Cans one? Is it plausible that they have such a bad spam problem that they had to take it down for a month and a half or are they just blowing smoke up our bum. I strongly suspect the later but happy to hear an alternate opinion from someone with relevant experience/knowledge of these things. I'm guessing that they don't actually have anyone replacing Matthew and George any more. There's nobody to actually care about the site any more and Moo's likely stuck trying to coordinate everything on his own. With so many different things to do, that forum is at the bottom of the list. I get this vision of him wearing a nerd version of the "one man band" suit with tablets, keyboards, and cell phones strapped to him instead of musical instruments. "Godus team, hold please." Tap tap tap, click click, tap. "Godus team, hold please." Tap tap, click, swipe, click. "Oop, I'm late for the meeting!" Bang, crash, oof, stumble, hop. Dave is replacing Matthew and G.K. (good luck there Dave) and I don't think Moo will have anything to do with Community (apart from when he chooses), he is a lead designer, not even the developer (that is Pavle). From what Peter and Moo have said they can use the other resources if needed and approved (I bet they will be to busy though). In my experience with software development teams a change of focus in a team in the scope they have done is when the project is over and in a maintenance mode, Maybe its different in the games industry I can only hope.

I thought they outsourced a fair portion of their website maintenance? Hell, they seem to outsource preactically everything else.

Yeah I think it all is, but if I had this issue that they are having and it was my business, I'd be threatening them with moving the site and losing my business by now.

What, you don't like a contractor providing Five Zeroes of service?

The forum came back online today. Kudos, mrdrpink and the support staff. I know you did what you could given what you have to work with. Best of luck to you all.

Funny how they abruptly manage to get their own forum working again, just as online articles begin to suggest that this is the official board.

Yes they are back but their antispam changes appear to stop posting more than one or two responses in a short period of time. I'd post about it but I cannot since its too soon after my last post!
