If it's still with there service provider as they claimed previously why wouldn't you change service provider or at least make a better announcement the it just disabled.

Obviously shows how committed they are to godus. It's probably allowing them to dodge some support tickets since some mobile people won't have an official forum to complain on.

Other than the fact that it looks a bit bad for the forum to be down, they have no incentive to put it back up in a hurry. Running the forum: - Costs money - Gives people a platform to complain.
I think the worst thing from a PR perspective is that the Steam page has a "shutting down for Christmas" message dated 23rd December as the most recent piece of news. Not that it isn't a fair representation of the present state of play.

That makes this the de facto unofficial, official forum.
...which only seems right somehow.

There is a message in this. Perhaps they just can't staff the forums and help desk.

So how did the Skype call go with the webmaster? I figure the forums have been down/innundated with spam for over 45 days now. Surely you have figured out how to deleted the posts and get your website up and running again.

It would have been interesting for them to answer why the forum has been down for so long.

Just out of interest is there anybody here with experience managing a forum like the 22Cans one? Is it plausible that they have such a bad spam problem that they had to take it down for a month and a half or are they just blowing smoke up our bum. I strongly suspect the later but happy to hear an alternate opinion from someone with relevant experience/knowledge of these things.

I would not be surprised.

My mother could mod it. Removing spam and banning offenders IPs is less clicking than Godus. They just don't care.

I strongly suspect the later but happy to hear an alternate opinion from someone with relevant experience/knowledge of these things. I'm guessing that they don't actually have anyone replacing Matthew and George any more. There's nobody to actually care about the site any more and Moo's likely stuck trying to coordinate everything on his own. With so many different things to do, that forum is at the bottom of the list. I get this vision of him wearing a nerd version of the "one man band" suit with tablets, keyboards, and cell phones strapped to him instead of musical instruments. "Godus team, hold please." Tap tap tap, click click, tap. "Godus team, hold please." Tap tap, click, swipe, click. "Oop, I'm late for the meeting!" Bang, crash, oof, stumble, hop.

I just know of those 2 and I can imagine there are more options.
