Today, here at the 22cans Tower we’re currently working on trying to get working build up on to the Steam Opt-In branch. Hopefully, if everything goes to plan the story mode should be able to play through tonight.
Design
Started off with some messing about tweaking story text strings. More combat system design work. Long meeting this afternoon with all the designers pitching combat ideas and developing our plan going forward. Some interesting ideas about moving large groups of followers using flocking behavior. Really looking forward to the combat sprint now

Fixed an ongoing issue with chests that we put into the game. Previously if we added a chest, and you already had a house or something on the spot, then it would just bury the chest under the house. That was bad, so instead I've put in a thing that finds a close spot and drops it on top of the land nearby if it would have been buried. I've also fixed a minor issue where settlement squishing was leaving behind the torsos of the people who were leaning out the windows. Apart from that, it's been looking at some loading time stall bugs, trying to get a repro on the crash on exit bug and working hard trying to get working PC Build on to Steam Opt-In”

Sat in a long combat design meeting with some really cool ideas coming out, organising story release to opt-in… #itshappening, planning out bug fixing test with Martin and deciding how to handle community feedback on the story. I’ll make a steam post
QA
Triaging bugs entered from testers overnight, now that Story Mode is finally ready to test, check the completed Test Plan sections to make sure everything is being worked on at a rate that’s expected, getting a build ready for the external testers for over the weekend, smoke checking a potential release for Steam Opt-In, checking bugs from the community against our internal database and cleaning up the bug database ready for new entries over the weekend.

Today, I attended meeting with the whole 22cans team to discuss the recent events that have happened in the press. Continuing to review new press article that have come over night and through the day. Working on a beast of a report for the next community update report (I’m hoping to finish this on Monday now).
