All this talk just reminds me that there still needs to be another Gabriel Knight game to tie up all the loose ends left at the end of the last one... grrrrrrrrr..... Have you been following the remake any? I've got mixed feelings on it regarding some of the changes they made, but it's still nice to see the franchise getting poked at here in the 2010's.

I like the classics where they are, wrapped in 8-bit graphics and dripping with nostalgia. Although, if they do it justice then I'll be happy with the renewed versions. Generally these things turn out more as a cash grab than anything, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until I see for myself (I am, after-all, currently supporting several new Sierra and LucasArts alums return to the genre). However, if they pull any nonsense like the infamous Cat Hair Moustache/Motorcycle Rental puzzle form Gabriel Knight 3, then we must revoke their game industry license permanently. And publicly flog them.

I knew about it but if it wasn't another game, I really don't feel all that strongly about it. It wasn't the game play or graphics that was the selling point, it was the story. From that site, I see a graphic novel and I'll check that out, but anything short of addition to the story just isn't going to draw me in. I've experienced the story and it needs serious closure.

I'd love to see another Laura Bow adventure. Damn yes. I still have my original disc and box that came with a map to the game's museum and everything. ...I'm getting old. (Old and awesome.)

My husband says, "Is Stonekeep old? if it is tell those guys it's awesome, and old." Heh, I've actually played that all the way through about four times since its release. Was a youngster when it came out (10, I think) and the sewer levels creeped me out at the time. Shame that the sequel never got off the ground. Alas.

Denny Crane here... jk jk. I had to play through Stonekeep again a few years back after I came across a Youtube video of those jerks the devs hiding that OP dagger <spoilers> in the wall right next to the starting area </spoilers>
I share your sentiments. Stonekeep 2 woulda been Killer!

Then Interplay's production went into development between a few titles for what would eventually become Black Isle Studios - Fallout (of course), but also Stonekeep II and Descent to Undermountain were being developed internally at that time.

I wasn't familiar with online walkthroughs at the time so I only ever knew about the dagger because of the strategy guide they put out for the game. Still have it, come to think of it. Edit: Here we are.

Anyone played "Conquestador" by German Design Group? The english Title was Spoils of War. Here the Amiga Intro: .
Was similar to Colonization, or should i say Colonization (1994) was similar to Conquestador (1992). They also made Rings of Medusa. Those are two games i played hours and hours.
It's directly beside Power Monger (same box size) on my game shelf. One of those old Bullfrog games and i liked it more than Populous.

I use to play a turn-based strategy wargame called Empire (later remastered as Empire Deluxe in 1993), a precursor to Civilization and games like it. It was a pretty simple game - but was by no means easy to defeat - which had a top-down view and really low resolution graphics, but I enjoyed it. I must have played that game well into the late 90's.

I think we never managed to play one game until someone won the game. Most times it ended in endless discussions and i can remember one game one of my friends running out of the house and not talking for two weeks with us (we were on the same school, same class, sitting side by side). Was because of us forming an alliance while he was on toilet. Later we went on to Warlords. Same problems, but was fun, too.

My dad still has a lot of the old game stuff at his place. Tell me about it. I remember when Pong first came out. PONG! I was a toddler then, but a cousin had it and it's probably my first game memory.
