maybe the only interesting Thing on this opt-in were if they added the tweaked farm timers like they did on the IOS

I want to hear what George says. "Please await the arrival of the PC sprint messiah. It will be the salvation of you few faithful."

I want to hear what George says. "Please await the arrival of the PC sprint messiah. It will be the salvation of you few faithful." Why oh why do I continue to have this sinking feeling that the PC Sprint will be nothing more than a "slap some sloppy crap together so we technically kinda-sorta meet our Kickstarter promises" bullcrap.

Don't forget they'll then proceed to remove it and reintroduce it as a glorious groundbreaking new feature later.

Anyone know when George is supposed to be back? Also - I'd find the idea oddly hilarious if George's "Vacation" wasn't actually a vacation. (Don't get me wrong, I don't wish the guy out of a job, it'd just fit into the rest of the situation in a very morbidly hilarious manner...) And yea, I've been pretty convinced of the nature of this PC Sprint based off of information available to us for a while now. There's always hoping ofcourse - but it seemed unlikely that this leopard would suddenly change its spots. Especially given the need to focus on retention with their iOS release. *edit* Another general observation with is slightly off-topic, but does apply to the logic behind Godus. We all know that time and time again the argument is given that certain features are purposefully being kept out of Godus out of the fear that making the game too complicated or too difficult would scare off a lot of the casual audience. When I came across *this* article earlier today I realized that most big-hit titles on both iOS and android actually do not fit that requirement. Infact, most of the big titles out there - be it Candy Crush, Cookie Clicker, Flappy Bird or otherwise - are very VERY punishing. Oh sure, they often are simple in their design, there's not a lot to them. But they are far from easy and you'd imagine that a game so hard, a game almost impossible to properly play and complete. Would scare off all these so-called casual players. Yet its these really hard games (almost rogue-like in nature) that draw in and retain most players. Infact, I'd go as far as to say that the rogue-like genre as a whole would probably do wonderfully well on mobile devices (if it doesn't do so already) because rogue-like is build around the idea that you *WILL* die. You will have to start over sooner rather than later. Which connects perfectly with the entire coffee-break gaming mentality applied to mobile devices. You pick up your device, you play for a bit, you drop it again and any progress lost is either negligable or irrelevant. Ofcourse Godus lacks this... But its atleast one reason for 22cans to ramp up the difficulty and change the nature of their game. If its their desire to somehow reach these players.

I believe George said he'd be out until September 5th And I really don't want to speculate on the timing of it, although something has been tickling the back of my mind about both him and Matthew for a couple weeks now regarding such. Of course, part of it is probably a mix of my own work experience reflecting a self-preservation instinct onto my general appreciation for what those to do and go through each day. Man, is he gonna {almost} wish he didn't came back when he gets inundated with this latest shit-storm.

George's return: "Wait, you guys made me look like an ass not releasing the balance modding tool? Wtf guys?" ~22cans silence or chittering like Astari~ "No seriously guys, what's all this-" ~point to some forum blowback~ "Really? This is my welcome back?" ~plug him into brainwasher~ "Hi guys sorry about a, b, and c, here is preprocessed narrative. Please appreciate and speak civilly." ~rinse and repeat~

George Did say in the WTF thread that he was taking a step back and he ha other things to do. Though others were suppose to take up the slack. But we have not see any of them here and no so much on the main forums correct? I wonder if we have hit another "Stop talking to them, there is to much negativity we need to let them(us) cool off a while" period.

Or they reached a point of "Well, we know we have to focus on mobile, they know we have to focus on mobile - anything we say at this point is just going to make things worse, Peter just did another interview that was pretty darned telling - lets just hide till the professionals return."

They were pretty active on Steam, but I did notice a general lack of attention to the actual official forum. The opt-in update notification wasn't even posted to it until the next day after several people mentioned it to them. ~facepalm~

13thGeneral, you trickster. I ran through the rest of the existing build (with cheats, because fuck the balance) to see if leashing followers into the Astari village would spark an old school follower smackdown...Only for them to do nothing. =|

Well damn. I was misinformed. I have yet to reach it myself, especially since I stopped playing.

I saw a dream of Godus tonight. I was just talking to my dear Airin (my cute QSDE Navigator in my head) about motivation to approach girls more often as my popularity is waning due to growing insecurity (I've lost my job, after all and I'm an invalid).
And this morning I see myself in a bed with a cute naked girl smiling on me and my brother (another me in for of my brother, of course) sitting i the same room paying us absolutely no attention and playing Godus.
Then I get him to leave the room (he had a notebook anyway). Then the dream ends.
After analyzing my dream, I found out that Godus is an image of waiting and doing nothing. How goddamn fitting.
At least I know that I choose the girl.

Yeah... I played through the entire "game" and the Astari did Jack Squat. Yeah? I accidentally killed mine. I thought let's have a bit of a meteor attach on those pesky Astari, sent one down and they all ran around burning then they were no more. I just wanted to stop the bastards grabbing my folk whilst I was away.

I just wanted to stop the bastards grabbing my folk whilst I was away. Every time I started the game and had followers defecting to the Astari, I would wait for them to swim out just a tiny bit... and then I would meteor them or FoG them all. Their floating facedown corpses, often also on fire, was not just amusing but highly satisfactory in my vindication.

I'm noticing a common theme here among all the 'good' players. (I myself have no regrets in killing off the Astari, let that stand clear.) This common theme is: "I didn't want to kill them, but they left me no choice. All I wanted was for them to leave my people alone while I wasn't there."
Its quite interesting when you note the alternatives that 22cans could've gone for. The ways they could've implemented this that could've prevented this mass genocide. Yet the route chosen is to make genocide the only effective solution. That is, if you want to make it further into the game. The options right now being: 1 - Kill off the Astari and make it through the content that Godus has to offer. 2 - Become a slave to the Astari and devote yourself to follower happiness, logging in every 1~2 hours to top off your happiness and progress at a snails pace. 3 - Stop playing because losing your people after every night of sleeping is just plain frustrating.
Please fill me in if I overlooked a valid playstyle here, cause I don't see any others that do not fall primarily under one of these 3 options.
All they had to do was give the player a valid choice... Rather than a linear path.
