So I've been playing the latest version quite a bit. It's okay as far as it goes but I'm finding it hard work getting anything like enough stickers to complete cards.
so I have basic farms, basic builders and various odd cards. I have been 'saving up' for mines as I have most uncovered two ore/jewel streams that I'm not able to do anything with.
i have extended my land a number of times, three or four, not sure. This last extension claims it has another five hours to complete. It's painful.
i have done 12 voyages. I'm crap at lemmings games and just get bored with them when I fail.
i have also uncovered two shrines that I see unable to pray at - I'm guessing they are just icons?
anything more?

I assume you're referring to version 2.0.4. Haven't played it and neither have I played 2.0.3.

I have played some of the new release. Working on my second expansion. I have one farm and one settlement. Still no were near enough card to do anything. No clue how I long I will try this version, they should have never left alphas as that is where we still are no matter how much they say this is a beta.

Yes, sorry, 2.0.4.
I think that this is the best release so far. I don't like stickers but understand that this is part of the strategic angle - spend or save them appropriately. Belief bubbles are also a pain but I understand why they are there. I am hoping that when I can harvest gems, I'll be able to set up settlements to harvest the belief as in a previous version. The snag is I am unable to get sufficient stickers to set up a mine.
It still crashes a lot.

This is the first version I've been able to play pretty solidly like it was, gasp, a game. Expansion is a lot faster since the houses build and re-populate faster, and I have a whole ton of stickers since you don't need as many any more. Although for some reason the cloud stickers are really rare, which is making unlocking power upgrades a pain in the arse. Belief generation is still holding me back though, I've had farming settlements unlocked for a while but I've not been able to generate the 10K belief needed to build one yet, although I have been focused on expanding instead so that might be it to be honest. Choice and consequence! I'd agree with many of the other people trying the update, definitely the best yet. I can still see a potentially great game here, I really can. I'm firmly in the "I'll believe it when I see it" camp now however, I'm just as prepared to see a pay to win mobile nonsense game come out of the other end too. Although it is buggy as all hell, but it's an early access game, what do you what? EDIT: I must say, I do feel a bit for Molyneux, I think he has a clear idea in his head of where he wants to go (stating about a million times that the game is not done, which many people actually DON'T get I'm sure), but as we all know the communication has been crap. I'd like to see more communication about big changes they're making, why they want to go in a certain direction and where they plan to go, not just dump them on us as they happen and wait for the feedback then. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not trying to say "leave peter aloooone!" after the Eurogamer interview. What the hell he was thinking, or is thinking, I will never understand.

In my opinion the prototype they built during the Kickstarter campaign looked cool. The alpha was a step down from that. The beta was a step down from that. Version 2.0 was a step down from that. I have not tried versions 2.0.3 and 2.0.4 because I expect those will be yet more steps down.

Played for a couple of hours but found that once belief was introduced it really hinders your ability to sculpt, which is the only thing to do bar clearing trees and rocks. So having no belief, no available plots, and waiting for a couple of shrines to be built I just quit and haven't been back. Still nothing to do but wait, wait, wait.

I played numerous hours of 2.4 to get to mining. It is no different than farming, just different graphics. Of course farming is only different than population growing as it makes some of your plots not grow people. cleared the two hidden temples. Back to no hope for it and shall likely ignore any further updates. Mostly only played 2.03 and 2.04 so I could have informed bitching instead of just bitching.
the entire thing screams mobile app with irritant pay wall. pure farmville crowd fare.
I shall enjoy reading the excoriating reviews from time to time.

I couldn't get enough stickers to get the mining settlement but had so much time I have completely uncovered both seams and both temples. I assume you got no result from the temples either? I don't understand why the alpha/beta is so lengthy with so many hurdles. If the idea is to test the thing........

I skipped a bunch of cards so I would have the stickers for it as that was about the only reason fro me to play.
I got one of the temples to build. 8 or so stickers, woop. can't get the other to build.
Yeah, unfortunately that is really the game. Looks like he seriously thought adding farmville to minecraft was a thing. Problem is, minecraft does not limit you so, and farmville isn't a game.
tried to get into opening up as much ares as I could. But as it is just more slog for stickers... got the land expansion totem that you build the little land bridge to. Just didn't care enough to continue after that.
Tried to get into just building a town, but have. already done that in previous and they have even made that unpleasant as you can only build certain buildings on different land, which would be fine if it mattered in any way, but there is nothing.
The voyages are the same slog of fight to make the land move with the irritant of a timer.
Lameness abounds.
Perhaps he'll post pictures of his wife playing some more.

I got across from the mainland to the expansion shrine across the water to find that just a few inches further on and up a mountain is another. No sticker chests at all on the other side of the water. Really starting to piss me off.

... No sticker chests at all on the other side of the water... no worries, you can buy stickers in the "sold our soul to satan" shop for 5.00 US per dozen. Get a 10% "cheerleader of hell" discount if you kill a neighbor and steal their wallet to buy them. But luckily, I am not bitter.
