And yet at the same time, probably not for much longer: This could mean even more fun happy time if employees were offered shares in the company to offset lower pay. Keep in mind that is probably counting the Kickstarter AND what Peter boasted that he got from DeNA, and I doubt the Kickstarter was counted towards "liabilities" even though 22cans have treated them as such ever since taking their money. The probable reason for Tim Rance to bail is that as director...it's his ass in the fire on a number of recent additions to laws over the last decade in the UK, the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 being the one that readily comes to mind. Here is another magical date to keep an eye upon: Next Accounts due 30/09/2015
This has come up a few times. Here's a link to a post of mine where this was discussed in another thread last year: godus.boards.net/post/5528The financial statements in question are for the year ending 31st December 2013, when 22Cans was still very much a young company. Godus had launched in Early Access but not on the mobile (which was always going to be where the money is). There's been a lot of change at the company since then and most significantly the iOS launch, so the financial landscape for 2014 will be very different. Crucially, in 2013 22Cans qualified as a small company and was therefore eligible to file abbreviated statements. As such, we don't have a revenue figure and we don't know what their expenses were. It's very difficult to draw conclusions and analysis from abbreviated statements, but in any case, the information is now enormously out of date. The 2014 statements will be very interesting. Last year 22Cans submitted their financial statements very early in the year, around February, even though they weren't due until the end of September. This year they have not done that, and frankly now that Peter Murphy (finance guy) is no longer with the company I wonder if there are going to be even more delays in getting the financials in order. I receive notifications from Companies House when 22Cans files documents so will be on the lookout.

I do agree about that information being out of date, but it still can give a bit of an indication of how they're doing...especially IF the mobile didn't do as well as Peter says it did. From what I've been able to find, 1-5M downloads at average revenue per download rates would roughly make it just possible for the publisher to recover their costs if they paid 22ccans a bit over the Kickstarter amount. Right now, it's nowhere close to the top 100, and what play numbers it once had are quite likely in decline. This goes especially once people realised that in Godus, you're not buying gems to make your castle/town/dungeon better faster, but you're just paying to alleviate the suck pay-to-wait mechanics designed into a single-player game. The mad dash to another game "with Godus fully released" while people are bailing to be replaced by less-experienced (read: cheaper) personnel, including the director and finances also leaving, then it doesn't look good at all.

At the end of last year, Peter claimed that the mobile release was making "tens of millions of dollars"! He was called out on this obvious bullshit and quickly backtracked on this statement, firstly revising the estimation to "millions of dollars" and then qualifying that after all the various third parties have taken their cut 22Cans apparently gets almost nothing.
Clear as mud.

Clear as mud. I'm surprised that he wasn't laughed off from the stage on this, everyone's favourite video: "But a totally dedicated, about a quarter of the company still remaining on Godus because its, it, you know there are DAU's across all the formats of hundreds of thousands a day, and its making tens, if not hundreds of thousands if it's a good day of revenues so we you have to keep that team there." Clash of Clans makes hundreds of thousands a day, Godus is obviously nowhere close. In fact... thinkgaming.com/app-sales-data/8506/godus/Thinkgaming rates Godus at (charitably) possibly making "ten thousand a day" - but that estimate would depend if Godus were anything like those other games that could show some possible reason to spend money upon them than to just temporarily relieve suck design until you reach the "content wall" where continuing to play the game seems meaningless unless you're having fun in the virtual sandbox. It is quite likely that Godus is making far, far less, which is one of the reasons why they've put it into a support cycle while most of 22cans bailed to a new title to attempt to find a F2P cash cow of their own. Peter obviously mistook the numbers of Pet Rescue Saga for Godus': thinkgaming.com/app-sales-data/2815/pet-rescue-saga/

Thanks, these are chock full of goodness. I really enjoy the lulz-facepalm-worthy reviews on the 'Godus Android - Reviews.pdf' document. I can't tell if they're just adorable kids, being sarcastic, or are actually playing a completely different game. You see that? A masterpiece. Truly. And a "mature mind" is needed to enjoy it? Surely you jest. Disasters? I don't even know.

Maybe a disaster is when God (that's tou) accidentally sculpts to close to a house. Oh wait I think the removed that after 1.3.

Peter has demoted himself to a position where he can cause maximum damage. What, more damaging than what has already been done? Now I'm morbidly fascinated in seeing what he's going to do to top this: www.zee-3.com/plok/index.php?comic=837
