I am now compiling the list and will begin putting these items together next week. Could someone explain to me what the 'acorn' references are about? We've got a pouch of acorns and a book about oak trees on the list and it's over my head! The Acorn Incident" When building up nuclear blast levels of hype for the original Fable, Molyneux claimed that if your character knocks an acorn off a tree, another tree would eventually grow from the fallen acorn. When the feature was nowhere to be found in the final game, some gamers called Molyneux out on the issue.
Presumably eager to appease these doubters, Molyneux assured them the feature would appear in Fable II. “I can tell you definitively that there is absolutely an acorn and it does absolutely grow into a tree. And it is actually part of the story now. We decided we got into so much trouble over acorns and trees that we are going to make it part of the main thread of the story in Fable 2″
But as we all know, the feature didn’t appear in the final game. Maybe Fable III will feature an acorn-planting minigame of some kind?" These, of course, were not "lies" per se. They were simply over-promises from someone who had a very limited understanding of game development and absolutely no experience in the gaming industry. </sarcasm>

Would take a bit too long to make a mockumentary of it*, but there's a biography title for PM if there was ever one: Peter Molyneux: Still No Acorn* - But you could probably include a URL to Acorn TV: (We don't have to worry about actually gifting a subscription because PM never delivered on his acorns, either.)

Wish I could send them the actual 3D drawing and make them print it...

Last minute additions? How about a print out of this: Attached to the cover of a dictionary bookmarked to "lie" and "misleading"?

Okay so lots of sarcastic ideas and such. Anybody got an idea for something nice instead? Something nice will come after and if we see Godus Battles being something not cringeworthy. Or at least not vomit-inducing and PTSD-triggering. That would be worthy of turning to be nice. For a while, at least.

Yes, I am half wondering whether to wait and see what Godus Wars entails...

Who says they have to deserve it. Let's send them tons of goodies that they don't deserve to make them feel bad about themselves. That was done once before, to the tune of over half a million quid (sans the amount made on the Steam Early Access scam), and 22cans never really gave a shit unless it was about their reputation in the industry (as in, what would directly affect their ability to flog the results of said scam). They never cared enough to hold up their end of the deal they put into writing themselves. So what could anyone possibly come up with "nice" for a critical hit to the feels for a studio that has traditionally not cared about those they screwed over wholesale, biting the hand of backers and customers who at once did like 22cans enough to feed them? You folks already put their dinner on their tables, to borrow from the asinine "starving developer" fallacy most dodgy developers have been playing a lot in the last decade (sadly, most playing that card seem to be British), and so I can't think of anything nicer than what you have already done. Maybe a restaurant gift voucher with a note of "Have another meal on us."

It would probably work for decent people, but remember, they already have our money which they don't deserve. They don't seem to feel too bad about that.

It would probably work for decent people, but remember, they already have our money which they don't deserve. They don't seem to feel too bad about that. Nor have they felt too bad about blaming the community for the first bits of honesty around taking said money while duffing around for years to make a slapdash mobile shovelware mockery of the god game genre. On the idea of sending 22cans something nice, something apropos, and in line with another idea from this thread... echocdelta, is it possible for employees of your company to offer keys/copies of a game to "friends and family"? Add a voucher for 22cans to receive keys to an actual re-imagining of the god game genre. That way they have a good reminder AND something nice for them to play.

You truly believe they deserve anything better than a piece of coal? <snip> make them feel bad about themselves. They've chosen not to feed those wolves. After all... the unscrupulous manner in which 22Cans has run their company has already run off most of those with any moral sensitivities.

Did anyone actually suggest lumps of coal? Add a voucher for 22cans to receive keys to an actual re-imagining of the god game genre.
