Not disputing that. 8 hours of any one's day or even week is a chunk, I was merely highlighting that I typically find that weekends are somewhat longer than 8 hours, and actually with my current in game expansion times in the 11 hour range that's like the blink of an eye in Godus time. But if I volunteer to do something I'm paid for during the week for free for a fraction of the weekend, so what?
[Edit] I know for example, I spent more that 8 hours last weekend with Godus. I'd saying playing it but I'm starting to think it's playing me...

Well Matthew made a big deal out of how he was giving up all his awesome weekend plans, doing the community a big favour by playing Godus for us. Well, he makes a big deal out of anything that might affect his reputation in good way. It's both his job and his lifestyle. By the way, a good one.

My point was that George and Matthew seemed to be doing it as a personal favour to the community (not because they actually wanted to play Godus).

I prefer to think of it as fulfilling a request made by the community so as to demonstrate both our good intentions and willingness to carry out reasonable requests made of us.

Well Matthew made a big deal out of how he was giving up all his awesome weekend plans, doing the community a big favour by playing Godus for us. If the CMs want to do that kind of stuff it's up to them I guess. I wasn't really making a big deal out of it so much as I was just trying to show we're not rigidly adhering to the "it's outside of office hours so bugger off" mentality. As mentioned by someone a few posts above, 8 hours isn't the worst time commitment in the world for a Sunday (though the entire process ran about 10 hours all in all). I juggle many personal projects and responsibilities though, so it can still be a decent chunk of time under the best of circumstances. Sadly long gone are the days where I could dive into a game for an entire day. I'd heard rumor that such a day comes when you become an adult, but I always imagined I'd still find time for hours of gaming a day. This adulthood thing stinks! *throws a tantrum*

I love these boards and the comment about going off topic but that being ok here. Freedom!!!!!
As for the community / 22Cans relationship, there is no point developing this if senior management are going to constantly undermine it with cynical and in my view unethical actions the impact of which on the afore mentioned relationship is predictable.
As for the play for 8 hours challenge I appreciate George and Matthew undertaking this but the fact remains (a) it's a game, it should be fun and (b) it was supposed to help with work by closing the gap in experience between us and them.

I have no doubt that neither Matthew or George would have been dumb enough to tweet what Peter tweeted but unfortunately they have to live with the consequences.

Please know despite any "feels" we do know y'all are just doing your job.

22cans is now owned by a publisher ... Nice miss-typed. ;p "calling Dr. Freud. We've found your slip."

Muir seems to be revelling in the reinstatement of his Hall Monitor privileges on the forum. He's warning people to stay on topic all over the place.
I can understand steering the topic back on course if it's literally started talking about non-Godus, non-22Cans related themes, but snapping at people over conversation drift is exactly the kind of behaviour that made everyone dislike Muir in the first place.

I presume that is per this topic on the steam forum, given that aside from me and a tumble weed the official forum looks deathlike - after a double release!

Yes, should have specified - the Steam boards. I am not a backer so don't have access to the official forum. Activity on Steam seems fairly constant. I've stopped following most of the threads over there because they move too fast to keep track.

It was more I'm over on the official one wondering where every one is... Having seen the video over lunch from the latest release announcement I wondered if I needed to turn off the lights in Guildford.

Once logged in and complained my account was activated really fast.
