it was described that they will release an mobile game on ks page Mobile was listed in that it was to be multiplatform, but from day one we asked and were told two things. One, The PC game was to be done first and would not be a watered down version of the mobile game. Two, the game was never going to be a F2p game because "PM and Jack hate those games". We asked before, or the Kickstarter board and after we pledged and all we got was misdirection. yeah i know and they lied...

We asked before, or the Kickstarter board and after we pledged and all we got was misdirection. They totally delivered in their mind i guess: - Steam launch was first (PC First fulfilled) - PC Game was not watered down (as it is the mobile game, there is no watering down possible) - Its not a F2P game cause we say so (Its an "invest to play" game, or, as i like to call it, a "Pay to Play" game) The game I have been testing was no PC game, just made to make you think it was while tested their mobile game they even had the store in one of the builds for a bit. Every step of the way they have had F2p mechanics in it and the backers screamed so they would just adjust it to another F2p mechanic. It is watered down in that there is no substance to the game at all. The PC game lost out in favor to the Farmville wanna be mobile game. I can call shit a turd burger, or a cow patty but it is still just a pile of pooh.

Zwei mal drei macht vier, widewidewitt und drei macht neune, ich mach mir die Welt, widewide wie sie mir gefällt.
Two times three makes four, wide wide witt and three makes nine of, I'm making the world wide wide as I like it. Maschinelle Übersetzung (Translation babelfish.de)

If the KS had been described as a mobile P2W game, it simply would not have been funded. Us PC gamers wouldn't have bothered, and I doubt casual gamers are interested in funding game via KickStarter. The bait and switch is kind of hilarious mostly because it's been so blatant. it was described that they will release an mobile game on ks page There's a vast difference between releasing on mobile and making a mobile P2W-style game for PC. I certainly would never have funded the latter and I imagine many others wouldn't either.

What sold it for me, was Beelzebub Molyneux describing ( early on the KS, I should say ) starting a game on a PC, and then continuing that game on a phone / tablet, and then finishing it off on the PC. What's currently on Steam, and was silently released on iOS, bears no resemblance to that, and I can't imagine it'll ever get there ( I don't even think it's possible ).

only Muir and the other augers would have backed it had they been honest.

I don’t know. I could be wrong but. . .
I think Muir’s doing as good or better a job than any of us would in a similar position: He believes Godus may yet become a great game, and he volunteered to uphold Steam and 22Cans’ posting directives. Judging by brief offline conversations I’ve had with the man (and speaking as an ex-moderator from elsewhere), I think he’s fundamentally Okay. I suspect Godus has passed the point of no return, but Muir? He’s Okay.

I don't think banned was attacking Muir for his actions as a moderator but simply implying that Muir is a bit of a fanboy who likes everything 22Cans does.

I was a moderator before too, and I don't think he is doing a great job. I think the fact that he used his Muir handle to support his own actions on 22cans as G-Bird is sneaky and low class. Sylvester was a great Mod and he was much more fair. When they were both mods at 22cans, Muir was busying going lock crazy and rarerly did Sylvester, Muir white washed every single thing 22cans did from day one and Sylvester was open minded and able to admit when things did not add up. They should have had him as the Mod on Steam and then it never would have gotten to the point it has. I think Ba'al also would have been a great mod at both places too, I would not because I believe in speaking my mind freely and in both places you have to refrain from doing so too much.

Please don't make it look like I wanted to be a mod because I didn't. I'm only a mod here because I founded the forum and well, someone had to do it. But then again I don't really feel like a mod but as a member of the community. I haven't had to warn anybody or edit anyone's posts. Everybody appears to be behaving. Of course it's not like we have very strict rules. Silvester was indeed a great mod.

I never said you did, nor did I, but I do think that you would have been great at it and your style of moderating here proves it. I was using you as an example because you are one here and Sylvester as an example because he was a mod at 22cans. Muir pales in comparison to both of you, sorry but that is my steadfast opinion. It's a compliment and even if I never met you it would still be just as true.

Yes, Lord Ba’al, I think you’re right and I misunderstood the thrust of tigrismorte’s post.
It’s almost like we’re talking about two different people, Qetesh. The Muir I know (knew?) was open to criticism, admitted when he was wrong and actively sought to improve his methods. Having said that, I’ve largely disregarded Steam’s Godus forum over the last couple months, so perhaps things have deteriorated –but you believe this was from the get go?
In any case, I own my doofus words, make my apology and will proceed to slink away with tail firmly tucked out of sight.

His style of moderation is just not my cup of tea, but to each his own. No apology needed, you are just as entitled to your opinion as anyone else.

You know, middle-aged kids get mighty uncomfortable when caught between two parents at war discussing different points of view. . .
