I thought Muir was doing a good job for the few months where he agreed to take the bare minimum of mod-actions, after receiving a lot of criticisms from the community (who'd have thought, people like having their feedback acted upon).
What I like less is his endless, tiresome brown-nosing of 22Cans and efforts to make himself seem like he's part of their 'inner circle' - but only when it suits him. The last 6 months have seen him parroting 22Cans' empty promises, agreeing with any new info shared by anyone with "yes, I have confirmed this to be true with my 22CANS CONTACTS" and claiming to be discussing people's game suggestions directly with the devs. But any time someone would call him out when critising lack of community engagement, he'd quickly backtrack and say he has nothing to do with 22Cans and is "just a volunteer mod".
Come to think of it, he suits 22Cans perfectly. I can see why they hold on to him.

You know, middle-aged kids get mighty uncomfortable when caught between two parents at war discussing different points of view. . . It's all good, no war here. We often have different opinions on posts but he rules with the Mod stick and I have my trusty "Potatoes of Power". Hey that sounds like a cool idea for Godus, right? We can have them rain from the sky when you defeat an enemy.

I’m so relieved we’re all good again that I like to offer --in the spirit of celebration-- that my overdue colonoscopy results came back as negative. I know what you’re thinking, “why would cancer ever consider threatening waits for conway?” Well, I’ll tell you; cancer is blind to the value of good, healthy, solid B.S. . . Sorry, that didn’t really come out quite right. I mean I’m just overjoyed that my innards continue to resist the intoxicating lure of becoming evil-dead zombies.
Many thanks, from your loving if aged adopted bastard man-child servant,
waits for conway
P.S. Thanks brother Crumpy.
P.P.S Consider staying far, far away from the Evergreen Health group. I could tell stories. With both hands tied behind my back.

Congratulations, Waiting on Conway, that's great news! Cancer is a bastard.
In regards to the OP, yeah. That Zoythrus guy bit off more than he could chew. If anything, it illustrates why a game council would be a horrible idea, or at the very least, why Zoythrus shouldn't be on it if they do one.

I've noticed a bit of whiny pro-Godus stuff both on 22cans's own forum and on Steam.
Now before anyone starts on me, I'm happy if people like Godus in its current form. But it seems like the people who do, then post about how they're constantly shut down by people who don't like the game, which I haven't seen any of.
They appear, intentionally or not, to be taking the fact that a lot of people don't like the game in its current form - so any feedback/comment threads will be filled with negative comments - and making it into a "Help! Help! I'm being oppressed" thing. I haven't seen anyone say "Your liking the game isn't valid!" but I have seen a lot of "You people who don't like it are just whining". Most people disagreeing with a point of view doesn't mean the minority is being oppressed - drowned out, sure. Oppressed, no.
Frankly I'm so close to being done with Godus that I'm losing the will to respond to these kinds of people (although it is somewhat tempting to do a virtual version of the guy in the old Tango ads with the big rubber hands, which some British folk may remember). Maybe I'll check back in a year or so to see if we have anything approaching a PC game.
Edit: and WoC, congrats on the all-clear. Bowel cancer killed my Dad, so it's always cheering to me when someone gets checked up and it looks like good news.

Lord knows, my personal habits combined with my hereditary history, well, I wasn't expecting good news. Can’t tell you how happy I am to be granted something of a reprieve. That’s not to say I’ll change my wanton ways (fate of all retards, doncha know), but I’m unbelievably grateful for whatever time remains.
Many thanks to both sidara and nerdyvonnerdling for your considerations.

I suppose I should return myself to the original point of this thread, so. . .

Haha. MORE!
PS. congratulations on the positive outcome of your medical tests. I know a few people have been affected by bowel cancer and it's the kind of news that turns your life upside down. The news that a person has remained right-side-up feels like a dodged bullet every time.

Maybe I'll check back in a year or so to see if we have anything approaching a PC game. I know exactly what you mean. I don't think I really believe at this point will Godus will ever be 'fixed'. When people turn up on community forums staunchly defending Godus, I can't help wondering if they're a troll or an associate (personal of professional) of 22Cans. Isn't that sad? I actually hate the way that anyone giving positive feedback on Godus gets condemned immediately as a troll (on Steam, at least), but I find the game so indefensible at this point - so boring, so tedious, so lacking in every entertaining quality - I genuinely do find it difficult to understand how people can enjoy it enough to defend it.

I don't have another card just yet, but I'll happily offer this bit of inflammatory rhetoric . . .
. . . and thanks, Crumpy.

Are we going to need a special thread for fan-art?

What? And be imprisoned with the crazy people? Well that doesn't sound like much fun at all.
Seriously, if my junk isn't entertaining or if it's annoying, please let me know.

So when is Conway going due to arrive? I'm looking forward to the day when your name becomes no longer waiting for Conway of with Conway.

So when is Conway going due to arrive? I'm looking forward to the day when your name becomes no longer waiting for Conway of with Conway. Update the moniker? So what the heck does “waits for conway” signify? Aw shucks, the explanation’s simple: I discovered a special something while avoiding Ezra’s initial appearance in Kentucky Route Zero. So the name’s derived from stumbling upon something you're likely never expected to find, while avoiding something you’re expected to do. Here’s a bit of silly fun. Edit: Well I thought it was a fun idea but in retrospect, I could be inviting who knows what kind of trouble if I let it stand so --SNIP--

Muir's problem is not that he is a bad mod. the problem is, people like him should never have a position of moderator/censor/etc in the first place. In Russia, we have a good story by Chekhov "Человек в футляре" that perfectly describes his type.

Thanks for posting that. I'll wait for the transcripts. Honestly, I can't stand watching and listening to Peter talk. It's not so much any disgust towards him, or the state of things, it's just a personal thing with me. It's partly his extremely relaxed but purposeful calm demeanor, and partly the way he talks (the vocalization) that rubs me wrong. It grates my ears like nails on a chalkboard. The careful and subtle soft manner in which he articulates, and the monotone inflections; it's peculiar. It doesn't feel 100% natural (tho perhaps I'm reading too much into it). That demeanor is sometimes (tho not always) an affectation meant to pacify and tranquilize listeners (think, 'hypnotize'), to subdue them and remove any negative thoughts. I realize that some people just talk like that, and I'm possibly being a bit judgmental or paranoid, but I get real mistrustful of people that speak with such a particular idiosyncrasy - or at least I approach them with caution and question their intentions, while still maintaining a neutral position (until that time I can discern their intent). I also partly feel like he's talking to everyone like they're children, or puppies, but in a cold and calculated way. Oh, and that little 'hmmm' that he does now and then - and the sucking air between his teeth - those irritate me too much. It's just an observation... and a persoanl issue. I feel bad even writing about it because I'm a really nice, welcoming and friendly person, and try to be accepting of people. That's just how I feel every time there's a new video tho... So, long point short, it takes a certain concerted effort for me to watch and listen to him.
