Found my Dark Souls 2 80+ hour save missing...sooooo starting that again, apparently. Ugh, that sux. I've had it happen with other games before, usually after not playing for a while. Sometimes a game update will change the save directory or corrupt saves, too. I decided to jump into Diablo III last night, because I have gamer attention deficit disorder. Lol. That's why it takes me years to finish a game.

I bought all Sims expansion pack there was when it first came out and played them like they were crack daily for almost a year.Sims 2 came out and it was a big letdown, prettier graphics but worse game play. I still play the new ones now every once and again but I get frustrated over some quirks in the game. The last saved game I have is my couple with 2 boys and she is pregnant with a third one, I really want a girl but no matter how far back into the game I go she always ends up with another boy. It was a very successful game in every other way, so I cannot bring myself to delete it but I doubt I will ever play that one again. Next time I play Sims, I will start from scratch and leave it there for sentimental reasons only, I did name the first boy by Ba'al's first name in real life(Don't say it if you know it, please), so that alone merits its space in my memory. I did play Myst years later than it when it came out and was quite in awe of how eerie it felt to play that game. I am currently still playing Theme Hospital, hit that epidemic level, ugh and planning on doing the last Monkey Island. I like each of the Sims for different reasons. Each version has good points and bad quirks. In Sims 3, I like that the sims have "wishes". I usually try to fulfil them as they come up. And the AI is quite good in 3 to the point where I often just let them do their own thing and not have to worry about them leaving a puddle on the floor (or worse)! Monkey Island is a good game. Have you played any of the Sam and Max games? They're the same genre and are pretty good.

Sims 2 is the only one I was really let down by. I had just spent half a mortgage payment on Sims games and was really looking forward to Sims 2, only to find out that is took away many of the features of the game that I loved to give me those graphics.
I have not tried the Sam and Max games, I learned about Monkey Island from Ba'al but I am totally open to any games like it. I would also love to play any games like Theme Hospital too.

I would also love to play any games like Theme Hospital too. You could try Theme Park. And if you like that you could try Rollercoaster Tycoon. I've never played either of those games by the way.

Theme Park is an excellent, excellent game. As is Theme Hospital and Populous: The Beginning.

I recently reverted into city building game mode - went and played through some of Pharaoh and Cleopatra, Children of the Nile, Caesar III (basically all of the City building Series). Now i've moved on to Anno 2070, I played a bunch of the anno games before but never got 2070 because of some poor reviews, but I'm actually really enjoying it. It's managed to keep the nice anno-style city building while still introducing modern twists that work well (like looking after the environment & that buffing/debuffing growth rate). I'm also still playing a lot of DotA2 because I only have 600 hours in it so far and that is clearly not enough.

I'm currently playing Factorio (is a must for RCT, SC, TTD lovers) (www.factorio.com has free demo) And i'm thinking about giving Crest a go, looks like someone took some ideas from godus and did some good things with them (available for free gamejolt.com/games/strategy-sim/crest/26758/)

I picked up Sleeping Dogs and all its DLC in the last Steam sale. Thinking of taking it for a whirl soon, though I heard that their Community Manager at the time was a miserable arsehole.

Cause, you know, I be making it rain up in here! *throws two dollars on the ground*
