Let's try not to stray too far off topic please, I'd rather keep this thread alive as a genuinely interactive discussion tossing ideas to better the game back and forth than see it shift to how 22Cans has lied to us in the past and has been stringing us along and such. There's plenty of opportunity for that on the rest of the board. We've (I've) long been looking to be able to have some sort of influence on the design of the game and it seems there is a slight chance that something like that is finally happening. We'll see where that leads and I know there is every reason to be skeptical about it but let's not cut the head off just yet. Also, we have a couple of new members joining up lately who may have some excellent insights and I'd very much like to hear them. The steam forum is pretty much crap (my opinion) and the 22Cans forum is pretty much dead so at the moment this forum appears to be the place to be for actual discussion. (which is kinda funny considering how this place came to be) So feel free to cuss all you want and put the fire to 22Cans' shins where it's due or not, but please do so in the appropriate threads, which means not in this one. I still am not sure if George or Matt took note of the sticker and card idea discussed in this thread, so i think tonight -or maybe this weekend - i'll gather it all up and put it into a designated "Stickers & Cards" topic (maybe just here, maybe on the official forums, maybe avoid Steam...); and probably send it via support as a suggestion as well to cover the bases. For me this idea has been (since it was actually concieved many months ago), and remains, the only way I could enjoy the mechanic without removing them altogether.

Looks like we do have this idea recorded and entered in, but by all means do feel free to create that thread regardless as that's something that would be handy to link to in our entry for this idea (cross referencing the sources of these ideas with more detailed explanations is always nice to have).

So, going back to the original topic of this thread... My request was for far more involvement of backers in the design process of Godus. I quote myself... The way you responded implies that your intention is actually to do exactly what you've been doing before which is to not actively discuss ideas with the backers but to gather some intel and then get to work. Which will result in the same situation of design decisions being made that might turn out to be horrible in the eyes of the backer community. The idea is for the design team to take in the information and then respond to us about how they think about our ideas. Then we have a chance to reiterate. Iteration is the key to how Godus is being developed isn't it? Well please iterate with us! The response by Monkeythumbz was as follows... That is a good suggestion. I can't see any problem with us posting a blog saying, "these are the areas we're going to address based off your feedback and this is how we're proposing to do it - what do you think?" at the appropriate time. Since almost two months have passed since then I am wondering if any of this has by now been discussed with the design team. Have they been asked to let this information sink in? We still want to be involved in the design of Godus as much as possible. As for essential parameters, that's a great idea and I promise (and you should know by now how I feel about promises) that I will get these over to you towards the back end of the summer. We are just about to enter the back half of summer. We know that the huge settlements revamp update is due for delivery soon. This of course begs the question of what you will start working on after this update. We know that it's not the PC focussed sprint since that is still scheduled for a later time. So what is it? More importantly, how can we help with whatever you will be doing? Can we start being involved in the design process please?

We still want to be involved in the design of Godus as much as possible. Not really, as I've said elsewhere I'll be sitting down with the design team to discuss suggestions/requests/feedback from the community ahead of the PC-focused sprint. I think next up will be working on a minor update for the mobile version, with a view to us getting back into a position where we're able to release build updates more frequently. Any feedback from the community specifically on the mobile version (once it's been released worldwide, of course) would be enormously appreciated.

Yes, although we're obviously aware of the differing needs and wants between mobile and PC audiences so it'd be ideal if you factored that into any feedback.

I'm confused about what's happening with the mobile release right now. I gather the current soft-launch is the same as the day it was made public, warts and all. Is this going to be updated with the settlements revamp? When is it going to be launched globally?
Last Christmas, PM said Godus would definitely be 'released' in 2014. At the time it seemed like he meant the completed game, but he may have meant the mobile release - though I find it hard to believe the current mobile release is what he had in mind. We've been told to expect this settlements revamp (for both plaforms) and then a PC sprint but I'm not sure where development for the mobile build falls into this. My personal feelings aside, if I was in 22Cans shoes right now I'd be 100% focused on the mobile version.

100% focused on the mobile version? What happened to the promised settlements on PC that I read about only yesterday? It will be the same functionality as what will get pushed to the mobile version, plus some necessary adjustments (and hopefully another PC-exclusive feature along with the naming feature we shared details about yesterday). Okay, so maybe I should have said 99.5% focused on mobile

I backed a project that is a year late in delivery as they have decided to shaft me by putting 0.5% effort into what they promised me. Luckily the by product of my money is that one day 22Cans will possibly deliver what they promised.

The visual improvements listed in our most recent blog post, as well as all the various new/improved gameplay features and functions, came as part of a mobile-focused sprint. We explained that we were going to spend the Summer months focusing on the mobile version of the game in this post on our blog. We'll be returning our focus to the PC version of the game later this year, which is where you'll see us implement a slew of PC-specific enhancements and refinements.

My final winge on this today and as you are kindly in a link providing mood. Can you have a look at the Kickstarter page - the one that asked us to back - and reference the bit that says that that you'll focus on stuff other than that I backed? The bit that says you'll have the summer focusing on the mobile version of the game rather than the bit I backed? Thanks. That'll help.

I hope when the PC sprint starts we'll at least have weekly feedback iterations.

I was keeping an eye on it and would have said something if the thread drift had continued, but you already caught yourself so that is great.

It feels like it's been a really long time since there was an update to mobile. I figured the next update would be the big release and this is what 22cans are working on. If the next update is just a precursor to the bug update then there is a while to wait.
It feels like 22cans have a lot of work to complete before the PC sprint starts.
I am looking forward to the time where 22cans ask for input into PC and we learn how far they are willing to differentiate it.
