The lack of communication from 22Tumbleweeds (I know, so clever) has been frustrating as hell that's for sure. I've backed a few projects and none of them have had as little communication as 22Cans. Subterrainian Games of War For The Overworld devs post a large update every week, Simon Roth of Maia updates the game very regularly and is constantly talking to people, if in small chuncks as far as I can tell, and even Darkforge of Nekro regularly stream development of the game. I say even Darkforge as they've been pretty quiet lately, but that's because the main form of communication, the forums, got spammed out of existence (I'd never seen so much) and they're too busy getting the beta ready for backers at the moment. Still they didn't go totally dead like 22Cans and were tripping over themselves getting ideas from the community initially. But if the devs are hiding from the internet, I have to wonder if something physical would be harder to ignore? Maybe, as slim a chance as it is, but maybe if we wrote an open letter to 22Cans and had it literally posted through their front door they might be more inclined to listen. At least then it's got to have gotten to SOMEONE on the team... maybe? I think the biggest issue is that we need to try and cut out the middle man and this is one of the only ways we can do that... without getting arrested.

I like: Cats; single malt Scotch; Stargate; Amiga; fried potatoes; retro gaming; cheese; snickers; sticky tape.
I don't like: Dimples in the bottom of scotch bottles; Facebook games masquerading as godgames.

Nice idea but at this point it's not gonna make any difference. We should have started sending them thousands of letters back when they came up with the first video with pink bubbles in it before the alpha was even out. That might have made an impression.

Pink bubblewraps, that would totally stop the production.

An open letter is a good idea but suffers from the silent majority. In reality their are probably less than 200 of us who are actively following this "game". that means >17,000 couldn't give a crap but everytime Peter would get asked about our complaints he could bat it away with "Well you know in any project you will get a small % of people who aren't happy... We have had no complains from 17000 so we much be doing something right..." To be honest if I didn't know better I'd kind of believe that PR BS spin... It may even work in his favour as people would want to talk to him about it who perhaps otherwise wouldn't car less...

Well what if instead of writing to 22Cans we'd send thousands of letters to the prime minister talking about how 22Cans screwed us over by not delivering on their promises.

I really wonder how 22Cans can spin those rewards, 'signed' T-Shirts and posters turned out so great.

Idk, but boards are getting pretty quiet again. Steam too, I think some people have just had it. No sign of Matthew again today on either one. Man, what is he doing with the 20 hours a day? I am starting to really scratch my head. I guess it takes a REALLY long time to change your one Mod's personal user account powers to Mod. Sarcasm.

Ah, i don't know if i want to see them. Most of them are ingame anyway, and i don't plan to play the game in the forseeable future.
Personalized Title Screen - after what they have done with the T-Shirts/artworks i am sure it will be the same titlescreen everyone gets only in a different colour (one colour for all backers - or something like that). Pets and godpower, too.
The seed we can plant to get a tree could have been a great thing ... thinking off a giant tree which grows totaly different for every backer ... but short after kickstarter Peter said (can't remember where) that it was more like a metaphor for all the promises in the past he couldn't fullfill ... i only thought "great, 20 pounds lost").
Ingame Statue made from our photo? Waiting for that. I think i send them a picture showing my middlefinger, so if i really have the idea to open the game again it reminds me of what 22cans think of me.
And everything will have to wait 2 or 3 years anyway. So we get it when even the casual players have enough of the game. We all know godus will be in development for a long time and rewards you get on release.
The best thing will be the making of video. I am sure it's something like the videoupdates put together and some comments on backers being a pain in the ass for them because they complained about everything while they where the greatest developers on earth doing a great job in communication.
Have you found the roll of honor? They have redesigned their website three or four times now, but the roll of honor is not there. It's really difficult to put some names on a website. They don't care about backers, only the money.

I don't remember being asked for a reference photo for the in-game statue... I send them a photo for the curiosity thing.
Do you remember was that mentioned in a specific update, or was it a survey/email from 22C?
I think at the minute, based on what they did with the Tees, that the statue will end up just being a generic sort of shape with some sort of 'backer' embellishment to differentiate those not in the tier...

That's from the reward description: "Your followers in your Homeworld will carve a statue of your image."
I thought they make a statue of an image i send them. They didn't ask for a picture. I don't think they work on the statue, that will come when the game is done, like the design document.
Yes i am pretty sure that it will be some generic statue, too. Would be 1000 statues to do. They can not sign the Tee-Shirts/artworks how should they make 1000 statues? Maybe it's a picture frame statue with the image on it.

That was my guess going back and looking at the rewards. I doubt they would ever take the time to build a custome statue and pet for every backer that is owed one.

Oh sorry, I think I misread your post then. I was worried that they already asked for pictures for the statues.

I'd guessed with the pet stuff at least that there would be a variety we could choose from. And to be fair I think we can give them a bit of slack with the in-game stuff for now, I'd rather see the game finished before that stuff gets added. Well, I'd like to see the game I backed get made at all actually but there you go.

I did ask about this and Matthew said he would check but that it was probably still to early for them to have done any real work on them yet.

I wear mine purely because the signatures have been printed and thus I lose nothing from it. Not like I'm gonna frame/display it when it's not actually been signed. However, upon further investigation I found a hole just underneath the armpit, so no more wearing that for me.

That's... strange logic for a signed t-shirt. So here's something interesting, but probably not really anything of note; the forums and site are down. Could this be a sign of something? No I don't think it is, but maybe if they'd talk to us a bit more thoughts like that wouldn't come to mind! (Yea, I should probably do something other than vent, but it's been reinforced that trying to come up with solutions and ideas is ultimately useless. At this point venting feels better. ) EDIT: Yea they're back. But see what I mean?

I've wore my signed T-shirt once, when I was painting the drawing room. When the kitchen extension is complete I will get a lot more use out of it, might even wear it for the tiling/grouting if I take that on myself.
I guess Sam/Peter never heard of a permanent marker? My "Kill you idols" T-Shit which is signed by Axel, Slash and Duff has survived a washing cycle (although the girlfriend who put it through didn't!)
