I have a question that maybe you'll not be able to answer. There was a mention of an update being prepared for release by Sam. I assume that the news that Sam was leaving was not part of that release - so what was the release about? As a follow up, when is it now likely to come out?

Yeah that was the blog type update I alluded to earlier. Would be nice to know what Sam prepared but guess it got a massive NO.

This might be a bit british, but it's what came to mind when I heard derp and Peter Murphy in the same sentence:

Thanks for the answers and your insight into what is going on Umbra. It was an enlightening and interesting read that I will be taking to heart

Is there an SEO (search engine optimisation) section on these forums in the Admin panel for keywords that can be added to help the poor old google bots out? I have searched around the admin panel quite a bit but I haven't found anything like this. I did find a section about promoting the site and I followed some of that advice. Posted a forum link on the ProBoards facebook page. Also submitted the link to Bing.

Hi Umbra, thanks for the post, very good of you. I dunno if you have ever seen the original version (UK) of House Of Cards - you may find the statement "You might think that but I couldn't possibly comment" very useful in the way the main character uses it. Also, I love the statement about the FoC being very excited about the new digital relationship with customers I guess in the sense that if you sell things as downloads and not in a physical shop, you can't have angry customers turning up with torches and pitchforks.... exciting news!

Why did this thread get moved to members-only? Is it because you're worried you might be breaking your NDA?

Yes. And in fact, reading back now. It is good it was moved, I had indeed overstepped the boundary.
For those that had read what I already typed, good for you. For those coming now, sorry the information is removed. I have to protect myself.

I just made it to the not edited version. Question from me: Why did we only get a few alpha versions and then a big nothing? Why did 22Cans want to open alpha access?

While I don't know Peter Murphy and I'm sure he is as described, I should point out that every board is constructed of many different people who look after different sections of the business.
The job of your CFO is to look after your finances, that is to make sure you pay the bills and push to make as much money as possible. He is the developers and fan's natural enemy as they will be pushing to spend time (and thus money) on this cool thing while he will be saying no way, that's going to cost X and not bring in enough extra revenue... In short all CFO's need to love making and counting money had hate spending it.
It's the job of the CTO to argue his case to do it and the CEO to make the final decision is one can't be agreed naturally.

So you're saying he's good at his job, but still an arse? I jest, I jest. He probably is very good at his job. I just don't like him.

I got a question, does Peter know that this forum exists? Do you know if he or that Murphy guy said anything about it?

why is my avatar a unicorn haha I could explain that, but I see no unicorn. Yeah I changed it A manly man like me cant have a sissy unicorn as avatar, it did remind me of "My little pony" though. Where have all the good cartoons gone nowadays? I have some new questions: Who is Jemma Harris? Is she some big time dev since shes on the board? Haven't heard of her before. People on steam forums complained on the card system and wants a real resource system, do you know the devs opinion on this (guess you cant comment on the system because of NDA) ? Is the reason for having a card system that its something that's necessary for the whole gems/f2p thing? I've read some article somewhere that they have been in contact with some big mobile game publisher, Im thinking that they either got adviced to do so (to maximize profits) or maybe signed some deal were they are obligated to implement some card system since it would add more temptation to spend money. How is the development on the water and weather system going? What is your shoe size? Thank you for answering and providing information I bet i'm not the only one appreciating it. Btw have you noticed that on the steam forum, people aren't bitching as much anymore. My guess would be its because of this forum and your info

My guess would be its because of this forum and your info This forum reminds me of Zion in the Matrix in a Matrix theory. (http://matrix.wikia.com/wiki/Matrix_in_a_Matrix_theory) i.e. Umbra was sent here by the architect (PM) to ensure that the rebellious subjects who rejected the programming would have a satisfactory area to reside in relative peace as 'outsiders', but it was just another system of control... (I'm sure that's probably not the case...maybe )

Umbra is just a cool dude. I have said that all along. Even when my feathers were a bit ruffled I still liked him. It did not hurt, I knew who he was for most of the time. LOL. I did not feel as in the cold because when I guessed it, he admitted it to me, and I respect him for that and that is why I never would have outed him.
