I don't like: Ignoring a unpleasant question or answering with something that is only loosely related or way to vague to actually answer something. Mods that Cherry-pick in discussions. Banning people for minor offenses.

Personally, speaking, I'd say our commitment to adding in a shades-of-grey morality system with Commandments is worth mentioning, too. I don't know if that's worth adding to the positive side yet, just on the basis that these were the commandments that were definitely for sure coming out a week, maybe two, after the AMA, which was early April. It's under planned. Beside Community related stuff almost everything positive is under "planned"... (= promises) since that is not Happening i would that delete: • Opt-In Build that is more frequently updated and this i would Switch to planned cause ist not ok to have a build timer with 1 day or more : • Reduction of timers and intention to further reduce them (to something comparable with other strategy games) I agree, I added a note to Opt-In Builds and moved the timer reduction to planned.

Just be to clear do you mean under planned as in 1) currently in the stuff we plan to do, 2) we've have under planned the feature(s) 3) we really must start planning stuff? Given this is the positive thread I'm sure the two words under and planned can have many more meanings/interpretations!
Optional Addendum for 1) no time soon but honest we are planning to do it unless the bailiffs turn off the power first (other chapter 11 options still available) Optional Addendum for 2) i.e. we intentionally have a large blank page of stuff which we will claim were always intended

So its 1), 2) and A1) and A2). Anything that was rather vague (we will think about it... that might be part of the PC sprints... ) is under "considered". For example George said that the ability to skip the tutorial might be something they will consider for the PC sprints. Its not a clear statement (we will implement that with the PC sprints) but it's a possibility. Of course its possible that things on that list will not be implemented because of their "iterative design process" or "statistic" and there is no clear statement when that might be. We got already prepared for the possiblity of delaying the PC sprints and its been said a few times that 22cans will just start thinking (making a concept) about making godus more like a PC game when the PC sprints start, they will not immediately start implementing features to achieve that. Once I find some time I will add source to all points so things should be more clear.

Heh heh. Additionally, keeping the forums restricted to just backers was, to be honest, something I was never fond of to begin with if only because you'll never grow as a community. You start off with a finite number of members and that number will only dwindle over time. By way of math, it is impossible to grow a closed community beyond the finite number of members it begins with. Without that trickle of new members (and outside opinions) activity can significantly decrease and, at best, stagnate. Having a public forum alongside an exclusive backer subforum is, to me, the most elegant solution. Anyway, all that to say that I'm really looking forward to giving some deserved attention back to the official forums. The new forum look and update is one step of many towards that goal, but ultimately George and I would love to see an active and harmonious network of community sites ranging from the official forums, the Steam forums, and fine forums such as this here which are free from official influence. One of the things I've always been confused about. It doesn't seem to be a thing to do if you want to promote and grow your game. I'd be curious to hear the reasoning behind that particular decision (completely exclusive forum as opposed to exclusive sub-board). I couldn't rightly say, as that decision predated me by a handful of months. Also, just to point out, we're not really looking to convert anyone from one forum to another. It's just another option that's available. There are many who tend to steer clear of Steam forums just as there are many who prefer to stick to more unofficial stomping grounds (such as over here) and then, of course, there's those that travel a bit between all forums. I think it's a good thing to have different options to suit the various preferences that we all have in terms of what flavors we like our community interactions to be. So it's less about trying to shoehorn people to one community platform verses another. It was just time that we finally offered a functional and public forum on the official website.

The way I see it, you generally should have two kinds of communities/forums. Ones such as here, where likeminded people do their thing. And a single 'official' forum/community which is primarily used by the developer to organize and dispense information.
Now thats not to say its a bad thing to have CM's such as yourself wander around these various other communities. Its just that both before your arrival and even occasionally after you (and later George) started working on the whole interaction part, it sometimes was a bit vague as to what information was speculation, what was official and what was "perhaps, perhaps not".
A simple example would be something like the tutorial bit. I think I've heard/read atleast a dozen conflicting reports on this over the course of several months. Now I don't know if having a single unified "source" would've helped with that, but I imagine it would. And it'd make for a solid source of information that is better to manage.
Though in that regard I'd also mostly be comparing it to a frame of reference based on various other studios using that approach. I mean, titles like Minecraft, Prison Architect, Star Citizen, Stonehearth and Starbound etc all have their "official" boards, aswell as tons of fanmade communities. To me, having a centralized source or core just makes a lot more sense. As such the decision by 22cans to keep the boards completely locked off just feels strange. It makes me think that whoever was in charge of making these decisions didn't really understand what (s)he was doing, and thus decided that because the kickstarter promised a backerforum, it'd have to be a backer exclusive forum (instead of a generic forum with an exclusive section).
Ofcourse there have been more things in the past that resulted in that impression for me. As such I'm very glad that atleast in that regard things have VASTLY improved. Communication and interaction being a bit more organized and streamlined, information provided more reliably (if not always more accurately) and other improvements (however simple they might be at times that one wonders why it ever was done differently).
And based on those observations I can only conclude that having you guys on board resulted to be quite beneficial to the cans in general. Makes me wonder though, whatever happened to that "official" FAQ and potential future AMA's.

Yup, good points all around. One benefit forums like these have as well is, in a way, George and I can be a little more laid back with you all too. Within reason, of course.

So, I'm kind of excited (cautiously) about river sculpting.
Minecraft's take on flowing water was interesting in a way and really fun to manipulate into traps, rides, water features, etc. However, the absence of vast, flowing rivers or large bodies of water that acted like anything but water was kind of a downer.
Anyone have any solid info on what we can expect? Will water by dynamic or static?
I hope Godus has "interesting water" that isn't just a static re-skinned/reassigned settlement path feature.

Dynamic. You have my attenton. Does it affect or effect any aspect of gameplay (outside adding "interesting environmental manipulation")?

I'd like to believe it will, but I suspect it'll be limited to accidental destruction of property at best (diverting water onto a settlement) and likely just streams flowing around objects.
Still, we can dream... (Fishing, boats, recreation, traderoutes/transportroutes etc)

The 'dynamic' potential has many interesting connotations, though I assume the reality will be much more subtle and tame. I like to imagine it'll provide for aditional features or variables; positive mechanics like irrigation bonuses to farming, fishing for settlement bonus, recreation for happiness, and adversely provide for negative ones like floods, tidal waves, poisoned/polluted waters, etc.
Again, big wishes tend to overblow the aspirations and create unrealistic expectations, thus the community ultimately gets disappointed; so I'll just withhold my desires and excitement until I see how it operates.

Agreed. I'm still grateful for the distinction between static/dynamic though.
