So, logging on this morning to suddenly losing 35 followers to the astari, all of whom went from my farming settlement which now takes about 30 hours to fill back up, I just about managed to gather enough belief to fix the problem by sticking a swamp outside the astari town. Now they all die and so are a lil bit more miserable than my people. However, I now have no belief left so I guess i'll just not play for a couple of hours till my settlements generate their wonderful 300-400 belief an hour for 100+ people each

happiness s****. Destroying Abodes you want to replace cause unhappiness, homeless people cause unhappiness, sacrificing people cause unhappiness. So you are forces to buy these ugly gifts for (n+1)*20 gems.
n ... number of gifts of that type already build

nice next farmer 450 gems or 4d 3h waiting, great!!!!1! I think it might have to do with the statue of capacity? Regardless, I solved it by merging a second farming settlement to it, after that it reset to 'normal'. As for the unhappiness, its a pain indeed. It seems that properly managing your game causes unhappiness and at every turn they force you to let the game run itself with minimal interference. Here's an idea - lets add a counter-happiness. The less control you can have as a player/god, the more unhappiness this creates! Let the cans deal with that. =P

Oh by the way everyone.
Just in case there are people that havn't discovered it yet, definatly check out www.TheUniversim.com
It's pretty much what, I was led to believe, Godus should of been like. Interesting. But sad the Godus burned me so much that I am afraid to back the game. Edit: Alos right off the bat they have a poke at Godus? LOL "Leave the farms and cities behind, jump straight into managing your own planets in The Universim, a brand new god-game in development by Crytivo Games and Alexander Koshelkov."

I think it is truely hilarious that Peter seems to believe that we "fear" mobile and F2P aswell as micro-transactions. He seems to fail to understand the difference between "fear of the unknown"/"fear of something different" with "hatred for something that has stabbed you in the back once too often".
He doesn't share our feelings because he has no attachment to the model that is being choked to death by these greedy new monetization models. Neither does he share our interest in the deeper and more engaging gameplay, as he seems more than satisfied to just sit there on his couch playing mobile/facebook games as if they are as interesting as Europa Universalis, Skyrim or even Call of Duty.
I'm starting to have my doubts whether we (even with the assistance of CM's like Matthew and George) can ever get that through to his thick head. No, we're not afraid of his 'innovative model' - we dispise it because it represents those elements that are breaking down the gaming industry in favor for some quick cashgrabs and other abusive models. Removing the monetary element from micro-transactions does not change their inherent nature. Thats not the solution. If the underlying and surrounding game is interesting enough it is an acceptable compromise - but its not... The underlying game is that of a mobile piece of coffeebreak entertainment.
He will *NEVER* be able to successfully market his product to a proper PC market untill he realizes that the core gameplay he is aiming for. That 15 minute gameplay mentality build around mini-games and chores, and the focus on keeping everything modular and seperate. That that will NEVER be able to properly engage a PC gamer. Its something that college students play when they're drunk (Mario Party) or that which someone in his office plays while waiting for some other task to complete.

You know... the games actually quite enjoyable and zenlike when you have infinite belief, gems and grain. Bulding up my settlements and sculpting pretty landscapes really is enjoyable if you don't have to worry about collecting the belief and waiting for hours and hours for stuff to get built/grown.

If you ask me, the addition of the Astari tribe was an afterthought - it isn't well design nor implemented at this point. Just like the entire happiness system seems to be a big 'fuck you' towards any player who wants to have control over his or her game. Apparently you're supposed to play this game with as minimal amount of interaction as possible. Ideally the game should run itself.

It's not a bug, on the commentary of one of the cards Peter specifically says that if you kill off all of them, you take control of the tribe.
