Can someone answer me this simple question - Why do they try to create a game, apparently for people that do not like to play games?
Because that is what it seems like to me, everything about this is done in such a way, that you're not actually playing the game. But instead are just... Doing chores and setting things up so it runs itself.

Hey guys, quick warning, if you see a little UI thing pop up telling you new events are available, don't click it. It will destroy everything you've built so far. For slightly more detail, here's my little bug report over on Steam.Honestly this really does feel like no-one sat down and spent even 2-3 hours playing through it, a lot of these things are really really easy mistakes to fix, for example: - Don't block rotation. Why the hell can't you continue rotating in one direction? this is just flat out stupid.
- Belief generation of farming settlements is far, far, far, far, far worse than the original houses. 300 belief an hour for 100 population?
- Somehow my farming settlement can generate 10 people in 2 minutes, but when it comes to farmers it takes 30 minutes for one? Why add MORE timers when it takes long enough to farm a field anyhow?
- Yes one of my people is homeless, do you have to make a bleep sound every 15 seconds about it?
- Holy forest spell... plants a tree. Not exactly a forest.
- The astari join me because I'm happier than them... of course they are now immediately homeless and start draining my happiness away.
- "Fill your time with minigames they said"... no voyages left for a week after doing the 3 listed (not including tutorial one)
- Unlocks are based on raw number of farms. Thus making bigger farms is kinda pointless if you aren't going to AFK most of the time?
- Overall even spending gems as wisely as I think I could, it's still very very slow. I did all of the voyages in the time I was waiting for things to build or expansion shrines to be done.
Basically It needs a bunch of little tweaks, and then it genuinely will be a good improvement on the last version, but right now it just doesn't feel fun to play.
What's sad is even with those little tweaks they'd still need a load more work to make this a proper game and not a minimally-interactive tv show, because that's what this may as well amount to. As Danjal has pointed out, this isn't made with gamers in mind, this is made with those that are "too good" for "real" games that will insist they don't play video games but waste their time on stuff like Candy Crush, Angry Birds, or the Kardashian game. You know, the types that inexplicably still view gaming as a specific demographics hobby of choice, despite its widespread popularity with almost all demographics.

really love the new intro and the dev commentary, however the "still stuck on 'play as we want!'" is really insulting. Dear 22cans et al, If I want to "over sculpt", whatever the hell that is, I'll damned well "over sculpt". I don't give a flip that you want it to be relaxing. The terrain shall bend to my will as shall all the lesser beings, especially the useless pukes that believe worshiping me gets them something. They'll get what I want. And do as I want or they'll perish. god!=baby sitter.
While I may not be able to control your love of touchscreen fruit, I am in complete control of my in game controls. I control the vertical. I control the horizontal. There is nothing wrong with my play style.
(PS. learned everything about being a god from lord Ba'al on Stargate.)

Just installed new update. I liked the commentary, though was surprised they didn't edit out Jack's sneeze... perhaps it's a foretaste of followers coming down with the plague?
Played the update for 5-10min, then ran out of belief and had build timers longer than I was prepared to wait for. Impressed by timeline visuals, but no real sense of progression or choice, why not use one of those AOE in game timeline maps, where there are clear choices. Even PM seems to acknowledge the need for double unlocking of timeline cards, and the scarcity of stickers. Sometimes his comments just seem to highlight the need for unimplemented changes.
Anyway, went to change resolution, then exit game, and still needed to get task manager to quit the game for me, problem others are having or was that just a one off for me?
So the big question is, having spent 15min on it, do I keep going?

If you're expecting change or something amazing - don't keep going. If you really want to see where things go with the Astati festivals, the settlement expansions etc? There's a little bit of stuff to do there...

Hmm, honestly, with other games I still am enjoying, am tempted to stop here. If wait times, gems, stickers are all still there it looks like the same old issues remain, and I can simply +1 to the pre-emptive complaints strike post thread posted else where. Sigh. Had at least hoped the game would keep my interest for 30min +

Had at least hoped the game would keep my interest for 30min + seeing as the "PC sprint" is nothing but the port of what they've added to the mobile game, not sure why you'd expect anything else. Only thing of interest is the commentary. And that is mostly a "really?" pleasure.

Belief collection remains a horrible mechanic and the chests remain a stupid resource collection substitute.

Well, I'll be uninstalling again... Seems that for now this is still a lost cause. Perhaps in 3+ months we'll see another 'big-ish' update with some worthwhile changes. I suspect the initial next period will be trying to fix this clusterfuck (the bugs, the balancing, the issues), followed by a few more polls and threads asking "what do you guys want???" only to be completely ignored as with the last halfdozen times.

Would you like a certain mod to detail your personal failings that lead you to not liking their fruitpad centric creation? Or is that just my special treatment?

I am further disheartened with the recent update.
Played it for about 15 minutes until I hit the build timer brick wall...
Being railroaded into having to spend 'gems' (eesh I feel dirty saying it) to progress further. Also, too scared to use gems because of the underlying notion that I will have to somehow earn them back again....
Perhaps Peter has our best health interests at heart by not endorsing prolonged gaming sessions?? (sarcasm intended)
Ultimately I still cant get past this simple fact... This is a god game. I play as a god. Yet, I have never played a game where I feel so restricted.
To me, this completely contradicts every aspect of how a god game should feel. Being limited by belief, time and now gems just goes way too far.
An omniscient, omnipotent god, should not be limited by these things but rather be focused on having his/her followers best interests at heart. Attachments:
